As has been requested (endlessly) EK's Star Log is returning to the internet. You can still read the original archive here... https://eelkat.wordpress.com
The reason you couldn't find it is because I set it to private un-index mode, meaning it no longer shows up in Google search results and can only be accessed by a direct link.
Meaning, if you didn't have the url for it, no amount of searching for it would tell you how to find it. Anyone who had the url could still access it though.
I had set it to private September 23, 2013, intending to move each page here to EelKat.com... however, November 14, 2013, after only moving about 30 pages, I was beaten up and left paralyzed for 5 months, then spent 18 months relearning to walk. I am still crippled and have limited mobility.

Most gems are rocks or minerals. However, some gems have organic origins. For example, pearls are formed when a grain of sand gets insde of the shell of living oysters. Mother of Pearl,Abalone, Paua,and Cameo are all made from the polished linnings of tropical sea shells.
Tortise Shell is exactly what it says it is-the shell of a turtle. Amber is a fossilized resin from ancient pine trees.
Coral consists of thousands of skeletons of tiny sea animals or plankton.
Jet,sometimes called Black Amber,is a fossilized wood related to coal. Opals are fossilized water that became trapped in tiny underground tunnles and turned into silicone.
Gem minerals are the natural materials made into gemstones for jewelry. To identify such minerals, experts sometimes must use chemical tests or X rays. But gem minerals can usually be identified by such properties as
- (1) crystal shape,
- (2) color,
- (3) index of refraction,
- (4) cleavage,
- (5) hardness, and
- (6) specific gravity.
A gemstone’s value is determined by many factors, including brilliance, color, hardness, rarity, weight, and cut. In general, diamonds are the most prized gems because they surpass all others in hardness and brilliance (sparkle),but high-quality rubies,jade,sapphires,and emeralds are often more valuable than diamonds because of their color and rarity. Pearls, Amber,Coral, and Opals are graded by size, color, and perfection of shape.
When useing gems for magickal or healing purposes always remember the following things:
*Never use a crystal or stone that has a broken point or is cracked, as it will not give off an even or focused amount of energy.
*The most efective size for most crystals or stones is 3-4″ in length, or diamiter, however any size or shape will work as long as it isn’t damaged, the larger the crystal or stone the more energy it has,use smaller stones when less energy is needed and larger ones when more energy is needed or use several small stones in various places to form a chain reaction of energy.
*After purchaseing a crystal or stone always remember to cleanse it of all the “bad”energy it has picked up from previouse handelers, by placeing it in a clear glass (not plastic,ceramic or metal)filled with tempid water and salt(sea salt is best),and leave it for at least one week;
crystals and stones not being used for healing purposes may be placed in direct sunlight for a few hours;one of the the most effective, but least practical way to cleanse your stone is to place it on the bottom of a clear mountain stream with it’s point going with the flow of the water,leaving it there for three days. Be sure to cleanse your crystal or stone after each use,so that it doesn’t biuld up or “soak” in the “bad” energy it removed from the patiant.
* There is more magnetic energy in the ocean than anywhere else in the world.
If you have access to natural salt water (an ocean is best,but a sea,gulf,or salt marsh will do)-always cleanse your crystals and stones in the waves on the shore,preferably as the tide is going out,so that it will draw out negative energyies more quickly and wash them far away.Ocean water is the best water for cleansing~
use it to cleanse all of your items,stones,crystals,tools,and yourself.If possible preform all of your spells and healings on the beach~have your client meet you there.
*All stones and crystals attract magnetic energy-this is how they work- each stone attracts varying types or degrees of energy;
some heal/work by attracting “bad” energy and drawing it out of the body;
other heal/work by attracting and giving off “good” energy which your body absorbs.
No stone works entirely on it’s own;their powers are enhanced or decreased by the magnetic energy feild that comes from both the patiant and the healer,as well as the earth,it is important that the healer/ preist/ shamen/ witch have a very stong”good” energy field,as the patiant/client often does not, and needs extra help to enhance the crystal/stone’s power.
*Rock divination(crystal gazing)can be done with any stone or crystal of any shape or size; however the best results seem to come when using a stone or crystal that has been poslished and shaped into a perfectly smooth orb(ball)3-5″ in diameter-sized to fit into the palm of your hand.
Clear Crystal Quartz is used as a general all-purpose”crystal ball”,but for better results with a specific purpose use the stone or crystal that will best match the purpose desired:
example-for one mourning a death,you would use an orb made of Dark Amethyst, or Black Onyx ; for healing a broken heart you would want to use an orb made of Rose Quartz or Pink Tourmalin,ect.
