The Adventures of Quaraun The Insane - A Pink Necromancer Short Fiction Story

What is the series about?
It's three god-level planet destroying alien invader Space Elf, Space Faerie, Space Demon wizards, with big global domination plans, whom have invaded 40th century Earth, settled in a lighthouse in Maine, are hellbent on destroying all Humans and taking over the planet, but never getting anything done because they are too busy throwing temper tantrums, having hissy fits, and flinging food, sea slugs, insults, and sexual tension at each other to get around to destroying the planet.
It's slice-of-life survival horror in a post-apocalyptic necromantic dictatorship, told through dysfunctional domestic intimacy between soul-stealing villains who rule the world. Welcome to the spiralling madness of Quaraun’s eldritch, sensory-heavy, character-driven, neurotic, dysfunctional, intimate, sugar-dusted Fae-punk world. This is the hostile, dystopian, necromantic, and hyper-sensory domestic horror of Quaraun’s everyday life with BoomFuzzy (and sometimes GhoulSpawn), in a grim world ruled by undead Faerie warlords where society has collapsed and survival is brutal, intimate, and corrupt, and Humans are often on the menu of UnSeelie Court feasts.

Drabble 1:
Wrapped in a warm, hand woven pink shawl, Quaraun lounged in his deckchair, cradling a cup of poppy tea. Sunlight danced on his silver hair.
Nearby, BoomFuzzy’s food truck bustled with activity.
“I wish we had lobster meat for lobster rolls,” he mused. He knew better than to make a wish near a Wizard.
The aroma of clam chowder mingled with the ocean breeze.
Seagulls strutted along the shore, their cries startling small children.
GhoulSpawn’s cloven hooves sunk in the shifting sand. He carried bowls of chowder to the tourists.
It was a peaceful, quiet, beautiful day, free of undead.
Drabble 2:
Early morning at Noodle Beach was serene, the small cove cradling the low tide. Children built sandcastles, their laughter mingling with the gentle whispers of the waves. Couples strolled hand-in-hand, leaving imprints in the cool, damp sand.
BoomFuzzy prepared a special dish, his focus intense yet peaceful.
GhoulSpawn, with a wide smile, poured Moxie into pink crackle glass tumblers, the fizzy sound blending with the distant calls of seabirds.
Quaraun quietly watched the beach, taking in the aroma of the ocean and the happy chatter filling the air. Each moment was a soothing note in the quiet of the morning.
Drabble 3:
A sudden chill gripped Noodle Beach, and the laughter faded into an eerie silence. The ocean withdrew, exposing damp, dark sand. Quaraun’s eyes narrowed, sensing death’s approach.
“Death moves near,” Quaraun said, the words heavy with foreboding.
BoomFuzzy nodded, his spectral form shimmering slightly.
“Aye, I feel it too.”
GhoulSpawn, oblivious to the supernatural, grew agitated.
“What’s happening?”
His hands trembled, spilling Moxie onto the sand.
A few tourists paused, sensing the tension, while others remained blissfully unaware, continuing their beachside activities.
The joyful atmosphere soured, a creeping dread weaving through the air, coiling around them all.
Drabble 4:
Suddenly, the ground trembled.
Monstrous, mutated lobsters burst forth from the retreating waves, grotesque and terrifying. Their red, deformed claws snapped viciously as they advanced. Beady eyes, on long stalks, gleaming with unnatural hunger.
Screams pierced the air as tourists scrambled. Sheer panic overtaking the once-peaceful beach.
Parents clutched children.
Couples fled.
Sand castles trampled in the chaos.
Quaraun stood, face pale, his heart pounding in his chest.
“The UnDead Lobsters!” he whispered, horror-struck.
BoomFuzzy readied himself, spectral Lich form flickering.
GhoulSpawn, stunned and terrified, watched the pandemonium unfold.
The peaceful day shattered by the monstrous onslaught.
Drabble 5:
The trio knew they had to drive the lobsters back into the ocean.
Quaraun, The Pink Necromancer, closed his eyes and focused, his mind reaching out to control The UnDead Lobsters. Their attention shifted away from the terrified tourists. The UnDead Lobsters recoiled, hissing, and retreating into the sea.
BoomFuzzy, the formidable Frost Lich, raised his arms and summoned a towering ice crystal barrier, separating the humans from the eldritch crustaceans. The barrier shimmered, a cold, protective wall.
GhoulSpawn called forth his infernal might, igniting the air with an otherworldly fire. Around him, a fierce ballet of flames twirled as he conjured towering spouts of magma, transforming the tranquil sea into a cauldron of seething, boiling, salt-laden waters.
Drabble 6:
As the last of The UnDead Lobsters retreated into the boiling sea, the beach fell silent, save for the grateful murmurs of tourists. The sand, now littered with broken shells, spoke of the day’s chaos.
Quaraun, BoomFuzzy, and GhoulSpawn regrouped, their bond stronger than ever. Tourists, tearful and relieved, offered heartfelt thanks.
Together, the trio watched the sunset, the sky ablaze with calming hues.
BoomFuzzy, eyed the pile of freshly boiled lobsters, washing ashore along the beach.
“Well, looks like we got tomorrow’s special sorted. Lobster rolls it is!”
Laughter echoed softly, the day’s tension melting away into a serene, shared moment of quiet triumph.

🌸🦄🌸LITERARY FICTION WARNING: This entire series is Character Driven Slice of Life Vignette Literary Fiction, regardless of what genre each individual story within it may be; meaning there's a lot of dialogue, a lot of talking, a lot of thinking, a lot of monologue, a lot of characters having existential crisis, and a lot of emotional introspective, but not much action or plot going on in this heavily character driven series, that focuses largely on three non-Human bumbling wizard super villains and their often ridiculous attempts to take over Humanity.
Each story is a narrow focused look at a single event (often a single day or usually just a single sliver of a single hour) in Quaraun's life.
This content warning has been added because for some reason, more than 1,000 readers have contacted me to suggest I add it because they said they would have bought nothing in the series had they known ahead of time this was LITERARY Fantasy and not generic Fantasy.

I don't see the need for this content warning, but, whatever. Here it is.
Character driven fiction is highly uncommon in the fiction world, readers who are used to reading fast paced, plot driven stories WILL find their panties in a twist, if they never encountered slow moving, plotless fiction before.
This is Character driven Slice of Life fiction and does not follow the Western publishing norms of either plots or 3 act structures (beginning/middle/end).
I use the Japanese 4 act structure (aka kishōtenketsu - Introduction/Development/Twist/Conclusion), which does not start at the beginning and is left open ended without clear resolutions.
It's kind of a sometimes Cozy, sometimes semi-Erotic, sometimes borderline spatter punk gorn, usually deranged bickering lover's spat Fae-punk horror series about Quaraun, a fragile, volatile autistic necromancer, and his hypersexual undead pastry chef lover surviving a frozen post-apocalypse. An autistic necromancer battles inner chaos, eldritch threats, and love in this tender, darkly whimsical cozy fantasy on an ice age planet. A genderfluid Moon Elf necromancer and his undead Fae lover navigate grief, magic, and quiet apocalypse in a queer gothic fantasy world ruled by Fae. It's weird. Venomous jellyfish hair. Gingerbread swords. Sweet cuddles jutixpointed against fire, blood, magic, and venom. Undead lobsters. Undead moose. Psychotic evil Elves. Welcome to the gentle madness of Quaraun’s eldritch, sensory-heavy, character-driven, neurotic, dysfunctional, intimate, sugar-dusted Fae-punk world. A soft-spoken necromancer drifts through frozen forests, haunted kitchens, and forgotten spells in a quiet saga of grief, love, and magic. After the fall of the Human world, a fragile Elven mage clings to love and ritual in a world of snow, silence, undead moose, and pink silk curses. Fae-punk, cozy horror, autistic protagonist, queer necromancer, UnSeelie Court—Quaraun's magical survival story unfolds in icy solitude. Fucked-up sensuality with claws, in a world where roses bite and dust bunnies kill, Quaraun—the broken Elfin necromancer—shelters with his ghostly Fae lover and sentient kitchen. But raw, damaged, obsessed, unstable beings in a hostile world where civilization has been erased, not rebuilding. BoomFuzzy who kills over a miscooked mushroom and Quaraun who rants for 2 pages about the word 'insane' and why he isn't. All are domestic, darkly romantic, usually set in the lighthouse or food truck, from Quaraun’s POV. Quaraun is neurotic, obsessive, and overwhelmed. BoomFuzzy is lewd, sharp, dangerously charming 𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ🐇. ་༘࿐˙⋆ . 🌸🦄🌸
