What is the series about?
It's three god-level planet destroying alien invader Space Elf, Space Faerie, Space Demon wizards, with big global domination plans, whom have invaded 40th century Earth, settled in a lighthouse in Maine, are hellbent on destroying all Humans and taking over the planet, but never getting anything done because they are too busy throwing temper tantrums, having hissy fits, and flinging food, sea slugs, insults, and sexual tension at each other to get around to destroying the planet.
It's slice-of-life survival horror in a post-apocalyptic necromantic dictatorship, told through dysfunctional domestic intimacy between soul-stealing villains who rule the world. Welcome to the spiralling madness of Quaraun’s eldritch, sensory-heavy, character-driven, neurotic, dysfunctional, intimate, sugar-dusted Fae-punk world. This is the hostile, dystopian, necromantic, and hyper-sensory domestic horror of Quaraun’s everyday life with BoomFuzzy (and sometimes GhoulSpawn), in a grim world ruled by undead Faerie warlords where society has collapsed and survival is brutal, intimate, and corrupt, and Humans are often on the menu of UnSeelie Court feasts.
A Sinister-Looking Stone Well🕯️🖤❀
{A Pink Necromancer Kishōtenketsu} 🦄🌸
After wandering many miles through the Forest of No Return, they came upon a sinister-looking stone well. Old gnarled trees hang low over the well.
Quaraun paused, staring at the sinister well before him.
The ancient stones gleamed under the heavy canopy of gnarled branches, casting eerie shadows across the ground.
Thirteen weathered stones encircled the well, surrounded by a dark ring of black orchids. In the centre of it all, an innocent-looking gnome sat, grinning with its chubby face and bright red hat.
“I donae like this place, Love,” BoomFuzzy muttered, tugging at his beard. “I sense a malevolence pulsing from the well. The flowers ward off fools. The stones, they hold somethin’ dangerous in place.”
Quaraun stepped closer, ignoring the warning.
“I want the gnome,” he declared, pointing his cane at the tiny statue.
“Why?”
“It is cute. I shall place it in my garden.”
“No, JellyElf!” BoomFuzzy hissed, grabbing Quaraun’s sleeve. “It’s cursed. Can ye no’ feel the dark magic?”
GhoulSpawn stood back, wringing his hands.
“He’s right, Quaraun. That well… it’s wrong.”
But Quaraun dismissed their warnings with a wave of his hand.
“It’s just a statue. Nothing more.”
Without hesitation, Quaraun stepped over the orchid ring and reached for the gnome.
The moment his fingers touched the cold ceramic, the ground beneath him rumbled. A guttural growl echoed up from the depths of the well.
“There’s something in the well!” GhoulSpawn yelled. “It’s coming up!”
“Damn it!” BoomFuzzy muttered. “The gnome was a ward.”
“Quaraun, step back!” BoomFuzzy shouted, pulling his twin daggers out.
But it was too late.
The well exploded with a surge of mud, water, and rotting vines.
A massive worm, as wide as a tree trunk, burst from the stone depths. Its maw gaped, lined with rows of razor-sharp teeth, its slimy body thrashing against the stones as it lunged toward Quaraun.
“A wormhole worm!” GhoulSpawn cried, stumbling backward. “Oh!”
Quaraun barely had time to react before the worm snapped its massive jaws, dragging him toward the well. He clutched his cane, struggling against the beast’s slimy grip, hugging the gnome to his chest with his other hand.
“Do no let go of yer gnome now!” BoomFuzzy mocked sarcastically.
Though his voice was tense, BoomFuzzy charged forward, slashing at the worm with his obsidian daggers. The creature hissed and recoiled, thrashing in pain as BoomFuzzy’s blades bit deep into its flesh.
GhoulSpawn, still terrified, scrambled to help, tossing rocks at the beast with little effect.
“What do we do? What do we do?!”
“Unicorn!” Quaraun shouted, still clutching the gnome. “Get me out of here.”
BoomFuzzy spun, his silver eyes locking onto Quaraun’s voice. With a muttered incantation, a blinding wave of spectral energy blasted from his hands, wrapping around the worm. The creature writhed and shrieked, releasing its grip on Quaraun.
“Run!” BoomFuzzy ordered.
Quaraun dropped the gnome, scrambling back over the flower ring. As soon as he crossed the boundary, the worm retreated, sinking back into the old stone well with an enraged hiss.
They stood panting in the clearing, staring at the now-silent well.
The gnome lay discarded.
“Told ye not to touch it,” BoomFuzzy said, shaking his head.
Quaraun glared at the gnome.
“I still want it.”
Ignoring BoomFuzzy’s warnings, Quaraun stepped back over the black orchids, his gaze fixed on the grinning gnome. He reached down, determination flaring. This time, nothing would stop him from claiming the little statue for his garden.
BoomFuzzy groaned, tightening his grip on his twin daggers.
“Ye never learn, Love.”
The moment Quaraun’s hand wrapped around the gnome’s stubby body, the ground erupted once more. The well spewed mud and debris; the worm exploding from the well’s depths with a furious roar.
Before BoomFuzzy or GhoulSpawn could react, the massive creature’s maw opened wide, swallowing all three of them in a single gulp.
The world vanished in an instant.
They plummeted through the worm’s pulsating, wet belly. Muffled screams echoed around them as the creature’s muscular body squeezed them further into the depths of its gullet.
BoomFuzzy cursed, tumbling through the wey suffocating darkness.
“I told ye, JellyElf, but ye never listen!”
“Shut up!” Quaraun spat, still clutching the gnome to his chest.
GhoulSpawn, utterly terrified, wailed as they spiralled deeper.
“Are we… are we dead?”
“No! Just inside the belly of a worm.”
Suddenly, the worm lurched.
The worm’s muscles constricted around them in one final, violent squeeze. They were expelled with a loud, squelching sound, hurtling through the air before landing in a heap on cold stone.
They gasped, covered in slick muck, blinking against the sudden light. Quaraun groaned, pushing himself up on his elbows. His gold plated prosthetic fingers still clutched the gnome.
BoomFuzzy wiped slime from his face and stood, shaking his head.
“Blasted wormhole… Poop’ed us out somewhere else. Where the hell are we now?”
“I hate wormholes,” GhoulSpawn muttered.
They were in another clearing.
On the other side of the Forest of No Return. Many miles from where they had been, only moments ago.
Another well loomed before them, just as ominous as the previous well, surrounded by a similar ring of black orchids and chipped marble chunk stones.
Quaraun looked up, disgusted but triumphant.
“I got the gnome.”
BoomFuzzy let out a long-suffering sigh.
“Aye, but at what cost, Love? At what cost?”
Quaraun’s eyes lit up as he spotted the second gnome, perched innocently beside the the second well’s edge, just like the first. Without hesitation, he scrambled to his feet and bolted toward it, his pink robes flaring behind him.
“Look! Another one!” Quaraun’s voice brimmed with excitement. “I can have a matching set!”
BoomFuzzy wiped more slime from his face, grimacing.
“Eh, here we go again.”
GhoulSpawn groaned, clutching his head.
“You’ve got to be kidding me…”
Ignoring their exasperation, Quaraun reached for the second gnome. As his fingers brushed the painted ceramic, the ground trembled violently. The well belched, darkness swirling up.
“Not again…”
