What is the series about?
It's three god-level planet destroying alien invader Space Elf, Space Faerie, Space Demon wizards, with big global domination plans, whom have invaded 40th century Earth, settled in a lighthouse in Maine, are hellbent on destroying all Humans and taking over the planet, but never getting anything done because they are too busy throwing temper tantrums, having hissy fits, and flinging food, sea slugs, insults, and sexual tension at each other to get around to destroying the planet.
It's slice-of-life survival horror in a post-apocalyptic necromantic dictatorship, told through dysfunctional domestic intimacy between soul-stealing villains who rule the world. Welcome to the spiralling madness of Quaraun’s eldritch, sensory-heavy, character-driven, neurotic, dysfunctional, intimate, sugar-dusted Fae-punk world. This is the hostile, dystopian, necromantic, and hyper-sensory domestic horror of Quaraun’s everyday life with BoomFuzzy (and sometimes GhoulSpawn), in a grim world ruled by undead Faerie warlords where society has collapsed and survival is brutal, intimate, and corrupt, and Humans are often on the menu of UnSeelie Court feasts.
The Cursed Mirror
🌸{A Pink Necromancer Short Story} 🦄🌸
The night was thick with fog, tendrils of mist weaving through the gnarled pines that surrounded Quaraun’s lighthouse. The cold, rocky coast of Maine was shrouded in an eerie stillness, broken only by the distant crashing of waves against the shore.
Quaraun, wrapped in layers of pink silk, sat by a flickering candle, his eyes scanning an ancient, leather-bound tome. BoomFuzzy was in the corner, sharpening his ceremonial obsidian blade, his long grey dreadlocks hanging around his face, a smirk playing on his lips.
A frantic pounding on the door shattered the silence.
Quaraun exchanged a glance with BoomFuzzy before rising slowly, leaning heavily on his cane as he made his way to the entrance. He opened the door to reveal a disheveled man, his eyes wild with fear.
“Please,” the man gasped, falling to his knees. “You must help me!”
Quaraun’s blue eyes narrowed.
“Who are you, and what brings you here at this hour?”
“My name is Edward,” the man stammered. “I’ve been cursed by a mirror. It shows me… it shows me a monster. A twisted version of myself. And every day, I feel myself becoming more like the creature I see.”
BoomFuzzy’s ears perked up at the mention of the mirror. He sheathed his blade and sauntered over to Edward.
“Aye, a mirror, ya say? Describe it.”
Edward shuddered.
“It’s tall, with an ornate frame, blackened and twisted like the roots of a dead tree. The glass is dark, almost as if it absorbs light rather than reflects it.”
BoomFuzzy chuckled, a sound that sent chills down Edward’s spine.
“I ken that mirror. A wee bit o’ fun I made long ago. It shows ye the darkest parts of yer soul, makes ye live in it till ye cannae tell the difference ‘tween yerself and the beast ye see.”
Quaraun’s expression remained impassive, though a flicker of interest sparked in his eyes.
“You created this mirror, Unicorn?”
“Aye, JellyElf. A masterpiece of mischief.”
Edward looked between them, his fear mounting.
“Please, if you can remove the curse…”
Quaraun stepped forward, his silks rustling softly.
“Curses are my speciality. But such services come at a price.”
“I’ll give anything,” Edward pleaded. “Gold, jewels, anything you want!”
Quaraun smiled, a cold, calculating smile.
“What I want, dear Edward, is your soul.”
Edward recoiled, horror etched on his face.
“My… my soul?”
“Indeed,” Quaraun said, his voice silky smooth.
“In exchange, I will free you from this torment and return the mirror to its creator.”
Edward hesitated, his mind torn between the unbearable curse and the terrifying prospect of losing his soul. Finally, desperation won.
“Fine. Take it. I just wish for an end to this nightmare.”
“You wish?”
“Yes1”
“Are you certain that is the wish you wish for?”
“Yes!”
“Wish granted then.”
“I can’t get anything done. It’s disrupting my job and family. I need to go back to how things were.”
“Too late to reword your wish.”
“What?”
Quaraun extended his hand, and Edward grasped it, sealing the unholy pact. With a flick of his wrist, Quaraun summoned a small glowing blue vial, and as Edward’s eyes glazed over, his soul was drawn into the container, leaving his body lifeless on the floor.
BoomFuzzy watched with gleeful satisfaction.
“Always a pleasure watchin’ ye work, me wee Elf.”
Quaraun handed the vial to BoomFuzzy.
“And now, the mirror. His soul should have drawn her here.”
BoomFuzzy nodded, a sly grin spreading across his face.
“Right this way.”
They entered a darkened chamber deep within the lighthouse, where the mirror stood, as described: tall, with an ornate, blackened frame, the glass dark and foreboding.
BoomFuzzy approached it, his reflection warping and twisting into a sinister, grinning visage. Though BoomFuzzy stood in a Humanoid form, the reflection in the mirror was that of a skeletal Lich unicorn, with glowing purple bones and a gleaming silver horn, revealing the turn monster behind the illusion.
“Hello, old friend,” BoomFuzzy murmured, running a hand along the frame.
Quaraun stood back, observing the dark energy emanating from the mirror.
“It is a powerful creation, Unicorn. I trust you will keep it safe.”
BoomFuzzy turned, his eyes gleaming.
“Oh, aye. Safe and sound, where it cannae harm anyone… unless I be wanting it to.”
Quaraun nodded, satisfied.
“Let us dispose of the body.”
“His bone will make good flour for me gingerbread,” BoomFuzzy said.
As they moved to take care of Edward’s remains, the mirror stood silent and ominous, its cursed reflections waiting patiently for the next unfortunate soul to gaze into its depths and lose themselves to the darkness within.
