What is the series about?
It's three god-level, planet destroying, alien invader Space Elf, Space Faerie, Space Demon megalomaniac super villain bumbling wizards, and their ship's crew (The UnSeelie Court) with big global domination plans, whom have invaded 40th century Earth, settled in a lighthouse in Maine, started a zombie apocalypse, are hellbent on destroying all Humans and taking over the planet, but are never getting anything done because they are too busy throwing temper tantrums, having hissy fits, and flinging food, sea slugs, insults, and sexual tension at each other, to ever get around to destroying the planet.
It's slice-of-life survival horror in a post-apocalyptic necromantic dictatorship, told through dysfunctional domestic intimacy between soul-stealing villains who rule the world. Welcome to the spiralling madness of Quaraun’s eldritch, sensory-heavy, character-driven, neurotic, dysfunctional, intimate, sugar-dusted Fae-punk world. This is the hostile, dystopian, necromantic, and hyper-sensory domestic horror of Quaraun’s everyday life with BoomFuzzy (and sometimes GhoulSpawn), in a grim world ruled by undead Faerie warlords where society has collapsed and survival is brutal, intimate, and corrupt, and Humans are often on the menu of UnSeelie Court feasts.
Seen in image:
- IMAGE 1: The Pink Necromancer, Thullid Infested Moon Elf silk weaver, travelling merchant, & Royal Court Mage of The UnSeelie Court: Quaraun Swanzen on Noodle Beach. With his unhinged temper, his 12 foot long prehensile, venomous jellyfish tentacle hair, his deadly laser wand, and his inability to stay sober long enough to cast a spell properly, he is the most feared being in the known universe. Quaraun is literally a Space JellyFish (A Thullid) whom has taken control of the corpse of a dead Elf.
In the year 2525, a comet struck the Moon. Now, in 40th century Maine, Earth is frozen, the Moon is fractured, and UnDead Lobsters are a serious problem. And then there's Quaraun: The Pink Necromancer. Most feared super villain on Earth. Possibly the galaxy. Maybe ever. But all he wants is tea, silk embroidery, and a calm evening in his lighthouse.
- IMAGE 2: Master Chef Phooka turned Lich King of The UnSeelie Court: King Gwallmaiic aka BoomFuzzy the Unicorn with his 1968 VW Bus Beach Noodle Food Truck. He is king of the entire fucking planet. Defy him and he'll serve you as the main course of the next UnSeelie Court feast. The world's only known Unicorn, in his true form he is a tiny lilac coloured Shetland Pony with a gleaming silver horn. In his Lich form he is a blue crystal skeleton of a Friesian stallion.
BoomFuzzy, the Unicorn Lich King of the UnSeelie Court, is Quaraun's dead husband. Technically dead. Officially terrifying. Unofficially the best baker left in the apocalypse.
- IMAGE 3: The Satyr-like, mad scientist Sheep Demon: Gremorse Liore aka GhoulSpawn with his 1974 AMC Gremlin time machine. He is Quaraun's apprentice, and fast becoming the most powerful wizard in the universe.
GhoulSpawn, their brilliant, baffled companion, fell through time from 1978 and never found the way home. Now he juggles tech repairs, running from zombies, and being madly in love with the two most dangerous men of the apocalypse.
- Art by Wendy Christine Allen.
- Not seen here: Toobe: a deceptively innocent looking tiny flying silver metal orb that hoovers around GhoulSpawn, giving science reports and scanning for dangers, Toobe is a sadistically insane sentient AI from thirteen thousand years in the future, who is the real brains behind the plot of global domination.
Drabble 1:
Quaraun stood on the rocky beach, the frigid wind whipping his pink silk robes around him. His cane sank into the wet sand as he leaned forward, watching the MerMan with a mix of curiosity and disdain.
The creature’s scaled skin shimmered in the moonlight, a glistening contrast to the vivid glass beads he embedded into the mollusks.
Quaraun’s eyes narrowed, his interest piqued by the potential magic within those pearls. He glanced down at the cave beneath his lighthouse, then back to the meticulous MerMan.
A smirk curled his lips. Perhaps purple pearls held more power than mere beauty.
Drabble 2:
BoomFuzzy crouched near the cliff’s edge, his fingers tracing the coarse stone. The sound of the ocean, the scent of salt, and the faint melody of the MerMan’s song reached him. He felt the tremors through his hands, a map of his surroundings.
Quaraun’s presence was a sharp, bright aura in the dark night, his robes a splash of pink in BoomFuzzy’s mind.
The MerMan’s task intrigued him; the glass beads glowed with a subtle purple hue, promising secrets and stories.
BoomFuzzy smiled, his fingers twitching with the urge to touch, to understand the magic of these otherworldly pearls.
Drabble 3:
Quaraun’s eyes lingered on the MerMan’s deft hands, his mind drifting into a haze of daydreams. He imagined himself adorned in long strings of pearls, their lustrous beauty adding to his already extravagant attire.
The thought of purple pearls, rare and mesmerizing, made his heart quicken. They would complement his silks perfectly, a touch of regal splendour.
Yet, the MerMan’s ferocity was well known, and Quaraun respected the creature’s dominion over this secluded beach.
He sighed, knowing he would never claim those pearls, despite his desire.
The shimmering beads would remain a distant, unattainable fantasy in his mind.
Drabble 4:
BoomFuzzy’s fingers traced the outline of the jagged rocks as he listened Quaraun’s musings drifting to pearls. He knew his lover’s covetous heart, the insatiable desire for beauty.
BoomFuzzy’s own thoughts, however, were grounded in the immediate presence of the MerMan, whose silver skin glistened under the moonlight. He admired the creature’s craftsmanship and the perilous energy that surrounded him.
BoomFuzzy respected the MerMan’s boundaries, feeling the electricity that thrummed through the air, a deadly reminder of the creature’s power. His mind wandered to the practicalities of their trade, the potential alliances and dangers.
Beauty had its price, after all.
Drabble 5:
“Those pearls would look splendid on me,” Quaraun murmured, his voice a soft rumble against the crashing waves.
“Indeed,” BoomFuzzy replied
Quaraun’s gaze still fixed on the MerMan.
“But I shall not risk the MerMan’s wrath. He is deadly, and I enjoy my solitude here too much to provoke him.”
BoomFuzzy nodded, understanding the unspoken tension.
“Aye, he guards his treasures fiercely. Best to admire from afar. We have enough troubles without adding a vengeful MerMan to our list.”
Quaraun sighed, the weight of his desires pressing against his disdain.
“Yes, it is wise. Still, an Elf can dream.”
Drabble 6:
A shadow slipped along the beach, a figure cloaked in darkness and desperation. The stranger’s eyes glinted with greed as he crept toward the MerMan’s cave, lured by tales of the priceless pearls.
The MerMan was busy at the pier, his back turned.
The stranger’s heart pounded with anticipation as he neared the cave entrance, where long strings of pearls shimmered in the dim light.
The allure of wealth was too strong to resist. He reached out, fingers trembling, ready to seize his prize.
The faint hum of danger went unnoticed, lost in the thrill of impending fortune.
Drabble 7:
With a blink, the MerMan vanished from the pier, reappearing in the cave with a flash of deadly intent. His eel-like body surged with electric fury, illuminating the dark cavern.
The thief barely had time to gasp before a bolt of lightning arced from the MerMan’s fingers, striking him down.
The air crackled with raw power as the intruder convulsed, his ambitions ending in a searing blaze.
Quaraun watched from a distance, a grim reminder of why the MerMan was left undisturbed.
The purple pearls hung undisturbed, their lethal guardian ensuring they remained forever out of reach.
Wondering what A 7 Part Drabble Serial is? I made a page to explain it:
*(Yes, I know the title says Triple Drabble, but this page goes through over a dozen different drabble types, besides Triple Drabbles,)*
Today’s random word is PURPLE .

Etiole:
Quaraun’s great-great-grandson. Youngest son of Sir Roderic (Lord of The Twighlight Manor), and youngest brother to The Dazzling Razzbury. Etiole’s mother was Lady Melneeva, an Eel Siren who is GhoulSpawn’s half sister by the same father but different mother.
Etiole was the main character of the series from 1978 through 2006, when the series was still known as The Twighlight Manor series and was not yet called The Quaraun Series.
I have not written a story featuring Etiole as a character, since “Love, Lust, Madness” in November 2006…until June 2024, when I started writing new stories about him for Medium.
Oddly, there are weird rumors throughout Maine, of people believing this character to be a real person, which, yeah, Google it, and you’ll see how deranged some people are about him. They even started calling my 1964 Dodge 330 “The Golden Eagle” after him, and claiming he haunts my car.
A real local man, did in fact model for several paintings I made of Etiole, in the 1980s, and he is the same homeless man I let sleep in my car at night.
For some unknown reason, locals have built up many wild conspiracy theories about the homeless man (a WW2 disabled veteran who is badly scarred), dubbing him “Etiole”, claiming he is a UFO alien, and some of them even make the claim that I was abducted by aliens!
Yeah, just Google “Golden Eagle EelKat’s Car” or “Etiole Amphibious Aliens” and you’ll see how deep down the rabbit hole fantasy prone delusional conspiracy theorists went with their rumours about this FICTIONAL character, that they believe to be a REAL cryptid/demon/alien/whatever.
Etiole has long been, hands down, the number one fan favourite character from the series, and is the character whom I get the most fan mail about, the most fan requests for more stories of, and to date, he is the character who’s name single handedly drives the most Google search result traffic to my website- to the tune of over THREE MILLION visitors PER MONTH just for that one search term “Etiole”!!!
