"Tips for writing horror? Several people, both from online and my personal life, have recommended that I take up writing horror literature. I've always been a somewhat distant fan of it in the past, mostly taking up interest in the paranoia-fueled tales of Edgar Allan Poe and whatnot. As of late, though, I've given some serious consideration to the idea of writing my own horror stories, whether short or novel-length.
As of now, I'm refining an idea that's been buzzing about in my head for such an endeavor. Being as I'm new to writing horror, I'm pretty much just charging into the fray without a real idea as to what I'm doing.
Any tips as to how I can make my tale more effective?"
