Witcher 3 Mod List: All the mods I am using in my Cult of Avallac'h playthrough

Witcher 3 Mods Currently Used:

Got a request to list what mods I'm using. I've got 800+ mods that I switch back and forth between. Most days I'm running between 45 to 78 mods.

Mens de tegn swap mods er ændret for hver kamp, mest af de generelle gameplay mods jeg har brugt har været den samme / uændret siden min 2. playthrough.

Not all are available online, but here's a list of the ones that are available on Nexus Mods:

A lot of mods are incompatible with ESGO because it changes so many files across so much of the game; ef þú getur ekki fengið þetta hleðslu skaltu fjarlægðu ALLA af þínum mods, þá skaltu setja þetta eitt fyrst og endurræsa hvert annað gegn einu, til að athuga hvort það virkar með ESGO; NOTE: I have been able to use ESGO with all the mods listed here, except for those I've specified ESGO is incompatible with; to get ESGO to load with all my other mods at that time. I had to rename the mod file to modzESGO - adding the z to force ESGO to load last on my list of mods. By reordering it to z - last to load - you should be able to use ESGO with most mods)

  • Fera Roach: Thunder Charger (makes Roach a Yrden glowing purple unicorn) (This massive mod bundle includes 100+ mods to change Roah into literally any type of horse or unicorn you could imagine)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/ mods / 498

  • GiveMeACard (gives you a card after EVERY gwent game - how I have such a huge deck - this against overrides the gwent card limit, thus how do I have 27 ghouls in my monster deck (instead of 4), 7 O'Dimm cards or 3) and 10 Shieldmaidens in my Different deck (instead of 3); If you play a lot or Gwent, like I do, you'll soon have 100+ extra cards and a very OP deck; WARNING: This is considered a " cheat against "if you have issues using cheat mods, you'll want to avoid this one)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2004
  • Iorveth (A texture mod; this only changes what certain characters look like; changes Roche and Ves into Iorveth and Saskia) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2053

  • LootBagsGlow (good if you are color blind or have vision issues) - I'm blind in one eye so often miss loot due to vision issues)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3050

  • Merged Free DLC - Mod Limit FIX (This is a repackaging of the 16 free DLC. This package merges 45 bundles and caches into 3, which should allow to greatly increase the mod limit.)  Https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3 / mods / 3334
  • Patch 1.31 Scripts (how I'm able to use 1.10, 1.15, 1.20, and 1.30 mods on my 1.31 game)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2134
  • QuestNudity (replaces Wild Nudity, which crashed after the 1.31-A update; makes all females in game nude; if the women are running around naked, this is the one I've been turned on;  NOTE: This mod is HUGE and LOAD HUNDREDS of new texture files in the game - if you are running into blob0.bound issues aka are hitting the so-called "mod limit", removing this mod will usually fix the problem; because this mod takes up so much "space" you You will have to remove most or even all of your blob0.bound style mods to make this against work.https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3136
  • Raddy's New Lodge of Sorceresses (Changes to King Radovid, Phillipa, Margarita, Yen, Triss, Keria, and Fringilla) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/ 2703
  • RandomEncounters (use only if you think Death March with Enemy Upscaling is not difficult enough for you - makes game harder by adding lots of Death March Enemy Upscaled monsters into your life - WARNING - this is a gameplay changing "handicap against" makes the game MUCH HARDER to play - not recommended for Death March unless you're crazy like me - if you've ever seen me take Avallac'h "on a run to the Devil's Pit with random encounter", this is the mod I'm referencing when we do that insane onslaught of 100+ monsters lashing out at us at once - prepare for that - this mod is going to kill your character before you know what hit them)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/ 785

(WARNING: Turn Random Encounters off during the Caranthir and Battle of Kaer Morhen boss battles - it conflicts with Caranthir's character file and will crash your game every time he is active in a quest)

  • RoachCam (removes locked in camera angles when riding horses - does not affect visuals or gameplay - if you want to get screenshots while riding Roach, this is the one you need for that)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/ mods / 822

* Script Merger: NOT A MOD! This is that thing you see me merging, repairing, and editing mods with. Ef þú notar þetta ekki, munt þú ekki vera fær um að nota mest af þessum mótsendingum. I use many mods that have conflicting scripts and can not normally be used together. https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/484

  • SensibleMapBorders (removes the bounder that will not let you run to the end of the world). (WARNING!) U kunt nu nu ook expliciete gebieden die u niet kon bereiken, and fall into oblivion, thus seriously crashing your game)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1458
  • SetTheLevelofGuards (a slider menu added to your options panel, that lets you change the guard level lower or higher, from -25 to +25 lvls below or above Geralt - vanilla the guards are 15 lvls above Geralt - I have my set two: -7 to +25 - WARNING: This is considered a cheat mod if you use it to lower guard level - you have issues with using cheat mods, you'll want to avoid this one)  https://www.nexusmods.com/ witcher3 / mods / 2940 (NOTE: Incompatible with ESGO; remove when using ESGO)
  • SharedImports (needed to use certain mods that are otherwise incompatible with GoTy 1.31)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2110
  • SlowerTimeFlow (make time move at 5 minutes per minute instead of 15 minutes per minute - giving the game more realistic time flow - every 1 minute of real life time is 5 minutes of game world time - meaning it takes MANY HOURS of real world time for a day to pass in game now - will frustrate players who like fast paced games - good for players like me who like slow paced exploration)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2299
  • SpawnCompanions (not exactly a mod - this is an alternate version of the debug console that includes the codes already in it so you do not have to type them up - this is that black popup menu you see me using to spawn Ge ' Als u weet wat de karaktercodes betreft, kan u handmatig spawnen een karakter met de debugconsole, maar dit is een index van ALL 5000 karakters, en u kunt deze gemakkelijker spawnen dan de debug console. )  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2459
  • Stack Size 1000 (All items are stackable up to 1000 except for armor, weapons, and horse gear. Makes inventory easier to sort through; does not change game play)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3291
  • Steel Sword vs Wild Hunt (Bug fix, that makes Wild Hunt Warrior's vulnerable to steel sword instead of silver sword; technically not a bug fix as the Aen Elle Elves are (Avallac'h included) are all dead and wraiths from the future trying to change the past so they do not die from the White Frost, so it is accurate / canon to fight them with silver swords and specter oil; however there is a vanilla bug in the game caused by the code listing them as BOTH non-humans and wraiths, which causes a -1 health bug in certain quests; if your game encounters that bug in the quest called Nameless this mod should fix it; however it will chase the quests Sunstone and On Thin Ice, so remove it before doing those)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3209
  • Stylish Yennefer (A texture mod; this only changes what certain characters look like; one of the many Yennefer modes in use) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2653
  • WellStockedCraftsmen (I can not remember what this does - it does something with merchant inventory, bug fixes and overhaul I think it was - not quite a "good for" but it does make major changes to game play - probably would be classified as a "cheat mod" so be careful of it if you are wary of such things)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3002

........

NOTE: 3 of the mods I use are NOT compatible together, unless you spend time rewriting the code and manually creating a separate script fill to merge them together before merging them with Script Merger:

  • Fisstech
  • Slots Slots Slots
  • More Quick Slots

You will not be able to use all 3 of these mods at the same time, otherwise.

........

I'm using several others, including Book Collection, Enhanced Herbalism, but they've been deleted off Nexus mods. I have several mods made by 3 mod creators, each of whom deleted their accounts of Nexus, so 30+ mods got deleted off the site as a result. A lot of modders are deleting their accounts lately, something about a protest, I'm not sure what they are protesting, but lots of amazing mods have vanished off Nexus May - July 2018 because of it :(

.........

Mods Needed To Build Avallac'h As A Player Character ... Avallac'h Himself:

No, it is NOT just one mod that was used to build him. The Geralt Doppler will swap out texture files, but if you want all his attacks, skills, visual effects, spells, weapons, and everything else you see him using in the quest Through Time and Space, you need a LOT of mods used as once to completely build Avallac'h so you can play him same as you see him in the vanilla game.

Keep in mind too, that I'm using more than just the mods listed here.

I have the skeleton swapped out as well, so Avallac'h is his own height, not Geralt's height. A texture swap would be same height as Geralt, a character swap is the actual character.

With a texture swap, the game engine treats you as Geralt no matter what you look like.

With a character swap, the game engine treats you like the npc character and constantly tries to take control away from you the player. It's VERY difficult to maintain control of your character and you'll have to constantly need to reload the game every time the game takes over control of the character, before you'll be able to regain control of him for use as a player character.

If you are just looking for a texture swap and still use Geralt's skeleton, combat, and actions, the only mod you need is The Geralt Doppler.

Do keep in mind that I have completely re-written the game code! This is not me simply dropping mods in the game. This is MUCH MORE than just a texture swap! If you don't have advanced code writing skills, you'll not be able to repeat what I am doing here, the same as I am doing it.

If you want to do what I am doing, and play the actual character, completely removing Geralt, you'll need very advanced script writing skills. There is no mod for this. I fully rewrote the game scripts on my own, in order to play Avallac'h the way I am playing him.

Do remember, I've been writing code, building websites, creating javascript random generators, etc, since 1996 and doing so is my full time job. I have advanced coding skills, that's why I'm able to do this sort of playing characters not able to be played. This is not something you'll be able to do if you don't have years of advanced code writing practice.

I found in Ge'els and Avallac'h's code that there was intended to be a quest where you played as Avallac'h and kept Ge'els alive from a Wild Hunt attack; but no such quest exists in the game, so something was cut involving Wild Hunt, Ge'els and Avallac'h.

It's why I can play Avallac'h as a player character so easily, whereas other characters I can only swap out textures; he was intended to have a scene where you could play as him, so some player character code exists in his files (same as Ciri and Geralt).

It was just a matter of finishing his broken player character codes, filling in the blanks with code out of Ciri and Geralt's code.

So, even if you use the mods listed below, you will NOT be fully doing the same thing I'm doing.

Here's the list:

Avallac'h himself:

  • Geralt Doppler: aka The #1 best mod ever made - this is the mod that removes Geralt from the game and let's me play as Avallac'h, Ge'els, Regis, or anyone else (there are 3 versions, I'm usually using V2 - you need V3 to get player character nude during sex scenes; V1 let's you play as female characters - this mod is VERY BROKEN, seriously glitched out and full of bugs -

WARNING!!! The Geralt Doppler is a savefile changing leach mod that latches itself onto your save files like it was a virus with no tomorrow - it WILL corrupt your save files, so make backups of your savefiles BEFORE installing!

WARNING: every scene that changes Geralt's hair or beard will cut your character's head off - you will have to uninstall the Doppler, then reinstall it MULTIPLE TIMES before your character's head will return;

WARNING: The Geralt Doppler is a GAME BREAKING MOD that will completely corrupt your game if it crashes - it WILL delete scripts and erase folders!!! Be prepared to wait many hours while you re-install your game after the Doppler crashes - - I've had to do a full re-install of my game 5 ties as a result of Doppler crashes, know this before you attempt to use it -

also WARNING: The Geralt Doppler is NOT a "traditional" mod, but rather an app/program you install on your computer, you can not just drop it into your mod file and expect it to load - be sure to follow the installation instruction to the letter - this is a very difficult program to get up and running and it has not been updated in years so in not compatible with most versions of the game without you doing your own script tweaking)

  • In order to use the Geralt Doppler you have to find the texture files for the character you want to play. For Avallac'h there are 3 files required "m_avallach_head", "m_avallach_hair", and "m_avallah_body_casual". With those 3 he will look like you see him in the image above. To add his cape you need: cloak_02_ma_avallach To add the cape with hood up, you need to remove the hair file and replace it with: cloak_01_ma_avallach , there is an additional clock files as well. To add his silver mask you'll also need: mask_01_ma_avallach
  • WalkByDefault (removes sprint and run from player character - forces you to WALK everywhere - use for Avallac'h - in the quest Through Time and Space Avallac'h has trouble walking, is unable to run, and the player is forced to walk at his pace; this mod is that same pace found in that quest) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/458
  • Avallac'h's Tattoos (needed if you use Geralt Doppler V3 and want Avallac'h nude in the sex scenes, because he loses his tattoos in sex scenes and we have to manually add them back on him - see our Kiera quest episode to see how very difficult it is to get his clothes off and his tattoos on at the same time) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2467

Same still, same quest, different (24th) playthrough of Through Time and Space.

This is the Geralt Doppler with the same 3 files as the image above, plus the cape file version 2, as well as the files novingrad_citezen_rings, skellige_fishermen_rope, skellige_fisherman_hunting_knife, and detlauff_ring.

You'll notice the color is different because in this one I had removed the game's default yellow overglaze filter and replaced it with a winter hued cold blue filter instead.

Mods Needed To Build Avallac'h As A Player Character ... Avallac'h's Spells and Abilities:

(Image: Avallac'h's overpowered White Frost attack in action.)

In Avallac'h's vanilla character code:

  • His aard is 700% higher than Geralt's
  • his igni is 3,000% higher than Geralt's
  • his adrenaline level is 6 points, while Geralt's is 3 points
  • Geralt can take 7 hits or 2,000 damage each, while Avallac'h can only take 1 hit or 2,000 damage points
  • Avallac'h's stamina drops twice as fast as Geralt's, but also regenerates 3 times faster
  • Gerale relies on Vitality (Health) to stay alive in combat; while Avallac'h relies on adrenaline to stay alive in combat
  • Geralt suffers bad side effects of toxicity after 75% and needs toxic levels to drop fast or he'll die; Avallac'h can withstand 100% toxicity without any adverse effects, and the lower his toxic levels are, the worse his health becomes, thus remaining high at all times is required; if he's NOT on drugs / potions / decotions he CAN NOT fight enemies at all
  • Avallac'h requires an alchemy build that focuses on getting its toxicity levels to 100% and keeping them there

Aard and Quen are Avallac'h's primary attacks. He heavily uses Quen to cast barriers around himself, while moving in close to the enemy casting a White Frost variation of Earth until he gets close enough to the enemy to jump over them and bring his staff down hard on their head, shattering their Skull, then running back out of battle quickly to heal before repeating this same move again. We see him doing this in the Sand Crab attack in Through Time and Space.

You have manually edited files (in other words there's no mod for this part), so that signs no longer START at 100 points each, before sign intensity increases from skills and potions.

Avallac'h's sign points are as follows:

  • Aard: 500+%
  • Axii: 300 +%
  • Igni 100 +% (not changed)
  • Quen: 500 +%
  • Yrden: 300 +%

Mods used to build Avallac'h's spells and abilities:

  • Cat Blue (visual effect only; turns cat into Elf vision; also has night vision / green, four vision / orange, glamor vision / pinkish purple and infrared / red options; I sometimes change the color I use, but it's still this same against regardless of color)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1813
  • DR's Ultimate Decoction Rebalance (changes what decoctions do; Avallac'h's character stats are different then Geralt's, requiring him to be very high in order to fight; this mod is why I can overload Avallac'h on toxins)  https: // www. nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3314
  • E3Quen2_1 (visual effect only, does not change Quen ability - swaps out Geralt's Yellow Quen, for Avallac'h's Blue Quen)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2366
  • Enhanced Quen (This allows you to set how long you want the Quen Shield to stay up, makes Quen block fall damage, and makes Quen stay on during cutscenes and dialogues. Best of all, everything is completely customizable. Includes displaying quen duration as a buff.)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/661

NOTE: You have manually edited / rewritten this mod, so in my game it does not do exactly what this says it does; in my game, i have edited this against two include a fall damage buff, changing the game's vanilla 7 foot fall to half health, to a 9 foot fall to half health IF Quen breaks during the fall and changing the game's vanilla 9 foot fall death two 21 foot fall death.

  • ForktailFix (bug fix if your game does not load ForkTail Decoction)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2445
  • FreezeYrden (bug fix if your game does not load Yreden's Freeze ability)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3141
  • Hunter Instinct Skill Patch (This skill does not work in some games - does absolutely nothing at all.) This fixes the buggy Hunter Instinct skill of alchemy tree, makes it do what it says it will do. have this bug.)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2352
  • KNGWisp (gives Avallac'h his will from Isle of Mists quest)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2390
  • Lightsource Yrden and Igni (visual effect only, does not change abilities; makes Yrden and Igni glow like a torch light so you can see better when they are cast at night or in caves; Adds some light sources to the sign and alternative igni. Du kan ikke hitte på at kaste i kilder, for å bruke som en lyskilde alternativ til fakser og katt.  https : //www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2853
  • Meteor Amulet (The fireball / meteor attack used by Triss and Ciri in Battle of Kaer Morhen and Avallac'h in the final boss battle)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2398
  • MoreMoneyForTraders (gives all merchants 5,000 coins - allows you to make money Very fast at farming cows, killing chorts, farming more cows, and everything else, and selling everything you have for 5,000 coins, thus being able to afford upgrades at the Grandmaster and Runemaker VERY early in game - I had Avallac'h's gear fully upgraded to ledgandary with enchantments at level 14, instead of starting to do those quests at level 35, because of this mod; WARNING: This is considered a "cheat mod" if you have issues with using cheat mods, you'll want to avoid this one)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/819

NOTE: I have edited / rewritten this against so that it is slightly different in my game. Thus why merchants have 9,000 coins.

Geralt should not have access to this much money. Unlike Geralt who is poor and can not buy much, Avallac'h is an incredibly wealthy nobleman, who spends a lot of money on fancy things and has hoarding issues; This mod is the one that has allowed me to play him as an accurate wealthy, hoarding, spendthrift, and is also a contributing factor to how I level up his alchemy abilities so fast, as he can buy all the recipes and materials straight from the beginning of the game.

  • MoreQuickSlots (changes the 4 slot pockets to 8 slot - lets you activate more potions during battle - does not change any abilities, just moves your potions and bombs to a different place, so you can quickly and easily access them during combat without flipping your inventory page open - allows your combat play to be more immersive)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1221
  • QuenAlways4Light (visual effect that makes Quen glow brighter and sparkly - does not change Quen abilities - removes Geralt's shimmer Quen effect and replaces it with Avallac'h spiral sparkle effect) (use if you play as Avallac'h or Ermion, this is the visual effect or quen used on both of them.)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3086

Note, I have manually changed what this mod does - with other words, I have rewritten the code, so what does it do for you, will be different then what does it do for me? brighter, to match the description in the novels, which states that Avallac'h had a glowing halo around him at all times - this being caused by his being an undead Wraith so emminated a Wraith glow

  • ReduceStaminaCosts (recommended you do not use on your 1st playthrough - makes your character OP if doing a mage build - I only use this when playing as Avallac'h because it adjusts his ability to cast spells to what is cannon for him - it's too OP and out of character for Geralt) TW3 Gameplay Tweaks (a set of about 50 mods that are mostly bug fixes - if there was a problem you ever had with the game The No Fall Damage Against I Use When Playing As Geralt) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2205
  • Slots Slots Slots (how my character ability point tree has 8 pages of slots - needed to replicate Avallac'h's canon skill build - this mod is too OP to use on Geralt and keep him lore friendly, I only use it on Avallac'h because he's canon in spells and alchemy - WARNING - this is a "good mode" - major game play changer - use only if you do not mind serious game play changes!)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods / 496 To use this, you want the first page all signs / blue, the 2nd page all alchemy / green; the 3rd page 1 row combat / red, 1 row signs / blue, 1 row alchemy / green; 4th page all brown skills; do not add any skills for weapons except for wirl; Gebruik alleen de niet-wapenvaardigheden in combat / red; bruk alle de blå færdigheder, og alle de grønne færdigheder bortset fra de bomber. Set Piercing Cold as your primary mutagenic attack. End result is insanly OP in signs and alchemy, but handicapped in fist fighting and weapons.
  • Play Tomes DLC (a dlc, not a mod; this adds all those extra spells you see Avallac'h casting; adds 10 new characters to cast in addition to the standard signs)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods / 3335
  • Stupid Strong 100x Igni Damage Modifier Buff (Overpowers Igni Sign; Great Combat Gameplay Changer; GOD MOD WARNING: This is considered a cheat mod if you have problems with using cheat mods. Https: / /www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1543
  • Ultimate Increased Creature Loot (recommended you do not use on your 1st playthrough - this is how I'm doing my alchemy items so damned fast to use high level alchemy during low level quests - added because Avallac'h is supposed to be highly advanced in herbalism and potion making - said in the novels to be the single most advances of all the known multiverses with no one close to his equal - I do not recommend it for playing as Geralt, it will over power his alchemy skills higher than in canon for him)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/38
  • Witcher 1 Alchemy Mod (WARNING: This is an "overhaul mod" - a MASSIVE game play changer - it removes the Witcher 3 alchemy system and replaces it with the Witcher 1 alchemy system - VERY buggy and has lots of glitches - lots of mod compatibility issues with other mods; if my game has crashed and you see me take out a mod to fix it, usually this is the mod I have to remove - works great if you only have a couple other mods, raises havoc if you have lots of mods) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3026
  • YrdenBuff(1.5)VisualEffectOnly (changes look of Yren to the bright neon glow mine has - does not change Yren ability)https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2695

Mods Needed To Build Avallac'h As A Player Character...Avallac'h's clothes and gear:

If you don't mod in his clothes, Avallac'h will be wearing Geralt's armor, as seen in the picture above.

Avallac'h's clothes and gear:

  • Shields and Robes (a dlc that adds npc wardrobes to merchant inventory - how my Avallac'h is able to wear his own robes instead of Geralt's armor, also includes Ge'els robes, Dettlauf and Regis's coat, Eredin and Imerlreth's armor, plus several others) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2356
  • RemoveItemLevelRequirements (normally considered a "cheat mod" this is needed when playing as Avallac'h because his clothes are lvl 35 at merchants, and otherwise he'd be dressed in Geralt's armor from lvl 1 to lvl 34) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1542
  • 9000 Weight SaddleBags (WARNING - this is a "god mod" - major gameplay changer - use only if you don't mind serious game play changes!) (I use this with Avallac'h because we see him in the game, literally pulling everything he owns out of that tiny bag hanging on his hip, which is apparently Mary Popping's Time Lord Bag of Holding. Watch real/vanilla Avallac'h in the quests Through Time and Space, Battle Preparations, On Thin Ice, and in the final boss battle - he even pulls his sword and his 6 foot tall staff out of that bag.) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2948
  • Armor No Medallions aka Characters swap Blood and Wine Edition V3 & V2 (needed is using Geralt Doppler - to remove Geralt's wolf pendant) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1798

Mods Needed To Build Avallac'h As A Player Character...Avallac'h's attack moves:

Avallac'h's signature brain-bashing leap.

Avallac'h's attack moves:

  • 100FinisherChance/Increased Finisher Chance (used with Always Dismember - why you see Avallac'h ALWAYS chop people up during sword fights - added because of the scene in the novels when the unicorn shows Ciri Avallac'h's boneyard and explains that he goes overboard on chopping people up because he's a necromancer and is afraid of bodies being resurected - it's canon for him to smash skulls open and crush brains, after cutting the heads off his victims - this mod makes him do that)https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2510
  • Always Dismember (used with 100FinisherChance - why you see Avallac'h ALWAYS chop people up during sword fights - added because of the scene in the novels when the unicorn shows Ciri Avallac'h's boneyard and explains that he goes overboard on chopping people up because he's a necromancer and is afraid of bodies being resurected - it's canon for him to smash skulls open and crush brains, after cutting the heads off his victims - this mod makes him do that) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1013

Mods Needed To Build Avallac'h As A Player Character ... Other:

(Avallac'h seen here, praying.)

Avallac'h Other:

  • FisstechV (uhm - yeah - how do I get Avallac'h high on fisstech - Geralt does not use fisstech so it's not canon on him; I only use it on characters who used it in the novels, thus why I use it on Avallac ' h; in the novels Avallac'h not only uses Fisstech, he also makes and sells it; his fisstech is highly sought after as it is said to be the purest made; King Auberon died on an overdose of it)  https: // www .nexusmods.com / witcher3 / mods / 2860
  • The Magic Lamp, The Eye of Nehaleni, and the Zynovox from the quest with Keira, are all items Avallac'h made and gave to Kiera. Keira gives them to Geralt at the end of the quest. When playing as Avallac'h, once you have the lamp, it is canon for him to use the lamp in place of either torches or cat potion. Move the lamp into one of the pocket slots and use this default for light in caves and at night.

Mods Needed To Build Avallac'h As A Player Character...Avallac'h's weapons and gear:

Canon to the novels, Avallac'h has a phobia of swords and will not allow anyone in his house if they are wearing one, making them remove their swords and leave them outside.

In the game, it is explained Avallac'h has begun carrying a sword because he's now acting as Ciri's bodyguard and has started using a sword to protect her against the Wild Hunt.

In both the novels and the game, Avallac'h is in the habit of looking for, then obsessive hoarding anything that once belonged to Lara Dorren. While in skellige, searching the many Smuggler's Cache question marks in the water, you will come across Lara Dorren's sword. It is called Tor Lara. If you find it, give it 3 burning runestones and make this his primary weapon.

Avallac'h is allergic to dimaritium and should never carry a weapon made using it.

In the novels, Avallac'h carries a crossbow and a magic flute that hypnotizes people. These are his lore-friendly canon weapons, but he has neither in the game, though they can be modded in.

To play Avallac'h lore-friendly, he should be carrying a staff in place of a silver sword, a crossbow that he uses as his primary weapon, and a Aen Seidhe made steel saber. The following mods will give him those:

Avallac'h's weapons and gear:

  • BossBow (bug fix for crossbow - this is the super powered automatic firing, flame thrower cross bow you see Avallac'h ploughing down Redanian Soldiers with - it shots 18 exploding bolts per fire and has auto reload - can shoot 400 bolts in 30 seconds - WARNING - this is a "god mod" - major gameplay changer - use only if you don't mind serious game play changes!) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2639(Glitches when used with other BIG mods, such as ESGO or Witcher 1 Alchemy - still usable with them, but prone to cause game crashes)
  • Brutal Combat v1.0 (Blood Mod) (an environment mod; changes look of game; does not affect gameplay; Full Edition of this mod is a complete game play overhaul and is not compatible with about 35 of the mods I am using; I am only using the blood files from this mod. The blood files increase the blood spatter during combate. Use this if you like bloody combat. Makes combat more visceral and blood stains persist. See photo of bloody Avallac'h above for what this mod looks like in action.) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/467
  • The Flutist of Blaviken (the hypno-Axii flute Avallac'h used in the novels, to make women throw their clothes of and chase him through fields - use it to Axii everything and everyone all at once; WARNING! glitchy and known to cause game crashes!) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2436
  • npcWeapons (needed to give Geralt Doppler characters their normal weapons - how my Avallac'h can fight with his staff; include's Eredin's lightning blade sword, Caranthir's staff, Zoltan's ax, Dijkstra's ax, and about 50 other characters' weapons) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/930
  • Sword Effects Customizer (changes visual effects/colours of runes and oils on swords - visual effects only - does not change abilities) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2182
  • Witcher Silver Sabers (a dlc that adds additional Elf and Ofier sabers to merchant shops - these are those fancy Elven made bent-bladed Aen Seidhe and Ofeir Swords you see me using when playing as Avallac'h) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1275

de-Reapair Kit (depending on which version you use, his makes it difficult to impossible to repair your own weapons - you MUST go to blacksmith for ALL your repairs - makes repair kits useless - I use this on Avallac'h because canon to the novels he has no weapons or combat training and does not know how to repair weapons himself - https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2509

WARNING - this is a gameplay changing "handicap mod" makes the game HARDER to play - not recommended for Death March unless you are crazy like me - if your weapons or armor break in battle you CAN NOT REPAIR THEM!!!)

How To Change Your Game To HD & 4k Graphics, how to remove the yellow filter, and how to change colours of everything...

My game has a cold, winter, foggy blue filter on it and the vanilla yellow glowing summer sunlight filter removed.

I did this with the following reshader, that allows you to edit your own filter and changes in-game colour, brightness, contrast, and gamma settings via a pop-up box.

You can download it here: https://reshade.me/ Note this is not a Nexus mod, but a stand alone website, specifically for this reshader.

Also, this is a reshader, NOT a mod, which is different. Do carefully follow the directions when installing this as there is quite a different process to installing a reshader then there is to installing a mod.

WARNING: Every mod below this line is consider LOAD HEAVY - meaning they will cut your fps and increase your GPU and CPU.

The mods here are intended to be used with a 4k gaming monitor, run on a full size gaming rig; if you are using either a laptop or a desktop computer you will likely not be able to run the game with these mods.

I am running the game of 60fps Ultra, and without these mods I range 54 to 67 fps and 27%cpu; with the below listed mods my game changes to 28 to 32 fps and 48%cpu.

I'm running with i7-7700 and Nvidia Geforce 1070 GTX

As far as I know these mods will not run on ANYTHING i5 or lower and struggle with anything under 1070, so use with caution if your computer is below i6 or below 1070.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

If you were wondering why my graphics look so much more different (more realistic and lifelike) from what you see on other people's streams. I am using a texture overhaul, which has replaced all the game's vanilla textures with HD textures taken from actual photographs.

In other words, while the vanilla game has rocks, grass, flowers, trees, boards, bottles, books, sand, and other textures made by 3D artists...

...my game has rocks, grass, flowers, trees, boards, bottles, books, sand, and other textures made by actual photographs of rocks, grass, flowers, trees, boards, bottles, books, sand, and other textures.

If you want to do this same thing with your own game, here is the texture swap mod for it: The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project

NOTE: This texture swap mod is HUGE (depending on your internet connection it could take up to 3 hours to download!) and requires a VERY heavy duty computer, with an exceptional graphics card that is able to run texture files of this massive size. Do not expect to be able to run this mod if you are using either a laptop or a desktop computer - you WILL NEED a full size gaming rig to run this mod.

Other texture changing mods I am using with the HD Project are:

  • Beautiful Rocks Mod (Changes the rocks in Velen, Skellige, White Orchard, and Kaer Morhen - visual effect only - does not change game play) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2691
  • COMPILATION version 3.1 no cosmetics (Same as Full Edition but with no hair, beards, eyes and teeth - I had the full edition on originally, but it changes Avallac'h's eye colour from the already correct, cannon ice aquamarine blue to a darker teal green blue and I did not like this. This mod changes the texture files of many things in game, making them 4k and or HD: clouds, blood, water, weather, smoke, explosions, flora, trees, mists, fire, terrain, structures, details, signs, corpses, background people, clothes, armour, and more) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2230
  • E3 Flares (an environment mod; changes look of game; does not affect gameplay; makes game more immersive; Brings back the anamorphic lens flare from the 2013 E3 trailer.) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3318
  • E3 HD Birds Reworked Project (an environment mod; changes look of game; does not affect gameplay; makes game more immersive; Dramatically improves the visual quality of flying birds to approach what was originally expected from the E3 demo.) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3204
  • More Shadows (an environment mod; changes look of game; does not affect gameplay; makes game more immersive; Enables shadow casting for some light sources: braziers, candles, lamps and torches. There are 2 versions; I'm using the original "with guards" version.) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1886
  • More Shadows for Toussaint (an environment mod; changes look of game; does not affect gameplay; makes game more immersive; Adds shadows to the majority of the light sources in Toussaint only.) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2979
  • Next Gen Candles (This is a mesh mod that changes all candles and many candle holders in game. I have increased the poly count on most candles between 30,000 to 100,000 and added a displacement map to give it the depth. - visual effect only - does not change game play) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1350
  • Next Gen Hay Stacks (Improved mesh quality of all known haystacks - visual effect only - does not change game play) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1515

  • Realistic Contrast Textures UPhoenix Vertex 22 (More contrast for environment textures architecture, textures tileable. - visual effect only - does not change game play) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1505
  • Silver Swords (fixes the silver sword bug - makes silver swords gleam with chrome effets seen in trailer - visual effect only - does not change game play) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/445
  • Unoptimized Novigrad Castle Wall (the castle wall look closer to the way it did back in 2014. - visual effect only - does not change game play) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1516

The Mod needed to make Roach a purple unicorn...

In the novels, Avallac'h kept Unicorns as slaves and prisoners. He used their in-born magic (by draining their blood) in his lab experiments to create portals between world.

It was the Unicorns who gave him the nickname Avallac'h. His real name is Crevan Espane aep Caomhan Macha. Avallac'h means "Fox", a name the Unicorns gave him, because of his habit of befriending people, gaining their trust, then turning on them and killing them.

Avallac'h is said, by the Unicorns, to be the most evil sorcerer of the universe. It is said, he caused The White Frost, by creating portals between world and not stabilizing them correctly, thus causing rips in the fabric of time and space, resulting in the icy cold of space, freezing every world he opened a portal on.

It is canon for Avallac'h to have and ride on Unicorns, ths Roach was turned into a Unicorn for this playthrough.

  • Fera Roach: Thunder Charger (makes Roach a Yrden glowing purple unicorn) (This massive mod bundle includes 100+ mods to change Roah into literally any type of horse or unicorn you could imagine) https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/498

Character Swap Mods...

Vanilla this should be Geralt and Syana, not Avallac'h and Ciri.

The Geralt Doppler was used to bring Avallac'h into this quest.

Ciri was brought in using Character Swapping.

The Character Swap mods allow you to switch out almost any character for almost any other character.

Characters swap Blood and Wine Edition V3 & V2 (needed is using Geralt Doppler - to remove Geralt's wolf pendant)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1798

NOTE: HYPE? This mod does a lot more than just remove medallions or Doppler characters !!! This is the mod, a lot of people keep asking what I'm using - (this is a MASSIVE bundle of 100+ mods - the one listed here is just one of many mods in this package; there are 2 packages - download both - this Package includes Artist Integrity AND Aen Elle Booze Up, the Scream Mod for Nameless, ALL the Geel and Avallac'h character swap files you see me using, MOST of the sex girls to Ciri character swaps, the Yen / Triss to Ciri character swaps, and 100+ additional character swaps - this is my single most used mod set; she built this to be compatible with the Geralt Doppler - yes, this is the mud who HATES Avallac'h and made it possible to drop him into every scene that lets' s us kill him or beat the crap out of him - we love her avallac'h hating mods around here and use them often; this also includes the Dijkstra to Geel's mod we are currently using to make Geels king - after the Geralt Doppler this is the best mod ever made)

Mods Needed To Build Avallac'h As A Player Character ... Avallac'h Himself: Assembling Avallac'h's Nude File, In Game ...

There are additional files for Avallac'h, including additional hair file, and a nude body file. The nude body file is a lot of pieces and difficult to put together, literally every body part has a separate file that has to be manually connected (head, hair, body, torso, arms, legs, hands, feet, tattoos - NOT the same head and hair file used in clothed Avallac'h).

MOST characters in the game have no nude body file and are only a head file and clothing file. Avallac'h is one of the few male characters who has an actual body file under his clothes file.

Because Avallac'h in the vanilla game, is unconscious and not moving, in the cutscene when he is seen naked, his files are not intended to be used on the skeleton of a moving character; Det er utrolig vanskelig at bygge nude Avallac'h, og det er vanskeligere å bruke ham som en spiller karakter uten at han har noen alvorlige klipingsproblemer.

Fordi han har så mange filer som behövs, skal de ha to filer: Hovedsiden har kun 3 filer: Avallac'h har en whopping 16 texture files!) It makes Avallac'h one of the most difficult characters to put together, to use as a player character. Ef hann er ekki sett saman rétt, hann mun bókstaflega falla í sundur þegar þú reynir að spila eins og hann í staðinn eða Geralt.

It is for this reason you don't often see me using nude Avallac'h in game play. If you've seen the streams when we did have nude Avallac'h running around, well, you saw what happens and how incredibly difficult it is to keep him in one piece. :P

Like I said, it is not a simple of easy thing to do, to assemble Avallac'h and use him as a player character, especially nude Avallac'h.

Mods Needed To Get These Sort of Bloody Screenshots....

Used to get lore-friendly screenshots of Avallac'h and Ciri from page 179 of Lady of the Lady.

If you only know Ciri from the game, you are sadly deluded into thinking she's a sweet innocent waif, and have no clue she's the Witcher universe's version of Rosemary's Baby. A brutal, sadistic, murderous, rapist lesbian, hell bent on hacking and slashing her way through every male she meets, she lives only to see everything and everyone die. This 12 year old she-devil spends her every waking existence seducing men, only to murder them and prove lesbians win.

It's no wonder everyone, Yennefer included, is hell bent on seeing Ciri eliminated.

With everyone and their cousin one her tail ready to kill the she-bitch demon child and save the world, only one person stepped forward to defend Ciri and saw his life destroyed, same way she destroyed everyone else who got in her path. Avallac'h tried to tame and train Ciri, believing against all evidence that a good person existed beneath the evil emotionless creature that she is.

To tame some one as violent and rabidly savage as Ciri, meant Avallac'h had to be just as brutal and savage with her as she was with him, something that was not in his nature and ultimately left him cast out of Elf society.

Ciri in the game, isn't even a shadow of the blood-thirsty, evil beast she is in the novels. How Ciri in the game can even claim to be based off the evil creature in the novels, is a wonder.

In any case to play a lore-friendly Avallac'h, we need too a lore friendly Ciri there to beat him up.

In the novels Avallac'h and Ciri are both violent with each other - boh have dominate, short tempered personalities.

Ciri was not beyond punching out Avallac'h and he'd punch her right back.

There's a scene when Ciri and Avallac'h start fighting, and end up on the ground both trying to strangle each other and punching each other in the face and no one can break them up.

After being brutally raped by her, Avallac'h has a tendency to back down to Ciri, while Ciri becomes ever more violent. While Avallac'h is known to hit Ciri, there is never a time when he is not hitting her in self defance. Every instance of him hitting her, is a case of him getting fed up with her viciously beating him up, and finally fighting back to get her to leave him alone.

I've often said I wish the game devs had made the characters, especially Ciri and Avallac'h more accurately faithful to how they acted in the novels.

If you didn't know, I'm currently working on a project to illustrate/recreate many scenes from the novels, via screenshots from the game.

This does include of course, the fact that Ciri is a wild, crazed, brutal, violent, excessively abusive woman who beats the shit of of the men in her life, Avallac'h included.

Pay attention to how jumpy and nervous Avallac'h is around Ciri in the game, and how quickly he shuts up and backs off when se gets in his face. Avallac'h is terrified of Ciri. He prefers to back down and obey, then take yet another beaten, thus why we see him so willing to obey her orders through out the game.

Though bigger, stronger, and having better control of his powers, then Ciri, and easily able to toss her aside, Avallac'h can't get past the fact Ciri looks like his beloved Lara and refuses to defend himself against Ciri when she beats him up.

As her incredibly abusive, excessively violent nature is largely removed from the game, it becomes difficult to recreate the scenes of her abuse of Avallac'h.

To recreate these scenes, requires a lot of careful timing, and getting battles with monsters set up in locations where we can quickly move the characters. The blood effect seen in the image above, lasts for only 30 seconds, and appears at random during combate, meaning getting these screenshots and having them match the novels is VERY DIFFICULT.

To get images like this, you need the Geralt Doppler to swap out the texture of the player character.

You then need 2 mods that apply blood spatter during combat.:

  • Brutal Combat v1.0 (Blood Mod) (an environment against; changes look of game; does not affect gameplay; Full Edition of this mod is a complete game play overhaul and is not compatible with about 35 of the mods I am using; I Am only using the blood files from this mod. The blood files increase the blood spatter during combating. Use this if you like bloody combat. like in action.)  https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/467

With these 2 mods, go into any combat situation, and you will end up with a blood spattered character, as seen in the image above.

How hard is it to build Avallac'h into a player character and can you swap out the dialogue?

Det er så enkelt eller så vanskelig som du ønsker å gjøre det.

Ja det kan ikke være noe mer enn en enkel tekstur swap.

No, what I have done is not just a simple texture swap, and is considered advanced level modding, but with a little practice, modding is pretty easy once you learn the basics, so you can easily do this with pretty much any character in the game.

Essentially, what I have done is built a separate stand alone character, and dropped it in, in place of the player character.

If you just want to do a texture swap, all you need is The Geralt Doppler.

Nei, du kan ikke bytte dialog. De originale karakter stemmer forbliver uansett hvem du vender dem til.

I'm running 78 mods on Witcher 3. Several are not compatible with each other normally, and I had to re-write script to make them work.

Selv om det virker som mange mods, er det faktisk bare noen få mods som påvirker selve spillet. Most of the mods are all on Avallac'h himself. No, to play Avallac'h (or any other character) if I do, it takes a hell of a lot more then 1 mod.

It took 30+ mods just to build Avallac'h as a player character (to make him fully playable with his correct attacks, weapons, and armor - none of which are available to be used by Geralt, as opposed to being just a texture swap or Geralt, using Geralt's attacks, weapons, and armor). See one of the other sections here for a list of how to do it.

Du kan ekki bytte ut dialogen uten at finde den stemmeaktør og få dem til at re-læs alle Geralt's linjer.

But ... uhm ... yeah ... my mind has actually wondered what the possibility of getting Mike Maloney do that ... probably expensive, but definitely a thing that crossed my mind ...

...and hey, if you've followed me long enough you know full well, I'm good at tracking down voice actors... points to my prized collection of correspondances, letters, emails, photos, and autographs with/from Alan Young, including the fact that he sent me a birthday present for my 30th birthday. I was such a screaming fan girl of Alan Young I actually ended up becoming friends with him.

:D

(Alan Young did the Disney voice actor best known as the voice of Scrooge McDuck, btw, if you didn't know who he was.)

And, yes, I have tracked down Mike Maloney (voice actor of Avallac'h), in case you were wondering how serious I was about having him redo the dialogue for Geralt.

Where Do I Find The Geralt Doppler and Which Version Should I Use?

If you are looking for the very old, original version of the Geralt Doppler, which was made for Witcher 1, that I use to play as Kalkstein, see my list of Witcher 1 Mods in a different panel of my profile here.

Several of the mods I used to build Avallac'h are available on Nexus Mods. If the mod is available on Nexus mods, I've included the link to it on my profile, so that you can use it as well.

The mods I'm using, were each intended to be used with Geralt on their own. In order to use them together, and build a new character with them, may require some advanced script merging and code rewriting. I've tried to make a note of which mods are not compatible "out of the box" with which other mods I'm using.

On my screen, these panels are 4 across and lined up correctly. However if you are on mobile or a small screen, the panels get reordered for some reason and are no longer in correct alignment. So the list of mods, may be several panels in order one after the other, or they may be scattered all about depending on what size screen you are viewing this page with.

And since it's the most requested mod of any mod I use, here it is:

THE GERALT DOPPLER:

Geralt Doppler: aka The #1 best mod ever made - this is the mod that removes Geralt from the game and let's me play as Avallac'h, Ge'els, Regis, or anyone else (there are 3 versions, I'm usually using V2.

Which version to use is dependant on what you want to do in the game.

  • V1 lets you play as female characters
  • V2 lets you play as male characters, but WITHOUT ARMOR - essentially a "naked Geralt" challenge run if you use this version - the character will wear their correct and proper clothes, but have no armor stats or protections in battle.

If you know how to do it, it is possible to turn a character's proper clothes into armor, thus have a V2 character with armor, but this requires a lot of rewriting of a lot of codes and is a VERY advanced form of mod building.

I am playing Avallac'h with V2 so he is dressed in his proper blue toga and olive hood/cape, however, I've also turned his gear into armor, so he's, got h same stats as if he was wearing Geralt's Feline gear with Ursine Gear buffs.

  • V3 let's you play as any male character WITH Geralt's armor INSTEAD of their normal clothes; you can play the character, with armor stats and protections in combat, but WITHOUT their proper clothing - they will be dressed as Geralt

If you see Avallac'h wearing Ursine or Feline armor, you know I'm using V3

Which version should you use? Only you can decide which you want to use. Here are some things I've learned that may help you decide...

  • Geralt Doppler V1: V1 let's you play as female characters; if you ever wanted to play as Yen or Triss of Shani or a Succubi or some random townswoman this is how you do it - NOTE - this version removes male voice acting so you can play a female character - it DELETES vocal/sound dialogue from the game, you'll be forced to read subtitles only! V1 suffers a combat glitch - meaning during finishers, your character will suddenly turn back into Geralt for a few seconds. You can turn off battle finishers in your game settings to bypass this. V1 sometimes suffers T-pose death glitch because female ragdolls don't swap out to male player characters well; in some characters Geralt's skeleton won't switch out and you get a wide shoulder effect that stretches out the character and makes them look weird - sometimes saving the game and reloading fixes it, but not always.
  • Geralt Doppler V2: MOST characters have only 3 texture files (head, body, hair) and if that is the case V3 is recommended; however, if you are dealing with a character that has 6 or more texture files, V2 is recommended as it holds them together better; Avallac'h has 16 base texture files and nearly as many additional texture files; the only characters with more texture files are Geralt and Ciri; V2 allows me to assemble all 16 of Avallac'h's default texture files, quickly and easily without clipping issues that are caused by manually assembling him
  • Geralt Doppler V3: the easiest version to use fr most character swaps; you need V3 to get the player character nude during sex scenes - V3 however suffers serious neck clipping issues on character who are shorter or taller then Geralt;

NOTE...

For characters who are shorter then Geralt... they can not make the jumps across broken bridges or leap high enough to reach certain ledges on cliffs. Geralt is said to be 5'10" tall, and many cases he struggles to make these jumps. Avallac'h is 5'6" (in the game - he was 7'3" in the novels; but all Elves are 2 feet shorter in game then in novels - Avallac'h was the shortest Elf, the others being well over 9 feet tall, by making all the Elves 2 feet shorter in game then in novels, Avallac'h in the game ended up shorter then the Humans.)

Avallac'h is the shortest male in the game who is not a dwarf or halfling. The end result is, Avallac'h as a player character can not make many of the leaps across broken bridges and has to go around, and can not climb up some cliffs, meaning skipping those quests entirely.

Also, because he is so much shorter then Geralt, he can not wear MOST of Geralt's armor, any of the masks, any of the Olgierd dress robes, and can not wear the Professor's glasses.

Additionally, because he is shorter, he sometimes can walk into places and get trapped. Certain burned houses that Geralt is too tall to walk into, Avallac'h strolls in... then because the building is not intended to be accessible there is no way back out without reloading an old save file from before going in the building.

Also because he is shorter then Geralt, Avallac'h can jump on beds, all of them, even ones with canopies.

Oddly, because he is s short, Avallac'h dies faster from falls then Geralt does. Fall amage is GREATER on Avallac'h then it is on Geralt. A tumble down the stairs will kill him, as well tripping over rocks. Be careful where you have him step. If you think Geralt's fall damage was bad, wait till you play as Avallac'h.

ALSO: Characters who are MUCH taller (like Ge'els at 7'1") or much shorter (such as Zoltan at 4'3") will not swap out properly, and will instead be Geralt's height (5'10"). I do not know how to fix this or if it can be fixed, nor have I tried to fix it.

If you want to try to fix it, I do know you'll need to find the original character's skeleton file and swap it out. If there is not much change in height (Avallac'h is only 4" shorter then Geralt) the skeleton adjusts to fit, but ONLY in V2 of the Doppler. V1 of the Doppler uses Ciri's skeleton, so female characters adjust to her height.

NOTE: V2 character skeleton files vs V3 skeleton files...

V3 of the Doppler retains Geralt's skeleton unaltered. And is the reason I rarely use V3 on Avallac'h, because of the difference in their base skeletons. Geralt has the wire-frame/base skeleton of a well muscled fighter. Any character you use with V3 will have their texture file stretched over that wireframe, resulting in them becoming well muscled out. This is not a problem for MOST of the male characters in the game... however... it is noticeable if used on a character who has a much thinner body frame then Geralt.

Avallac'h is very skinny - the novels tell us he is elderly, has lost most of his teeth, and is extremely skeletal from near starvation, and that his lack of back teeth and going too many days between meals is the reason for his extremely exaggerated cheekbones. That Avallac'h is very underweight is not so noticeable when wearing his many layers of clothes, but very noticeable when he's nude.

Avallac'h wears a silver embroidered black silk tunic, under a undyed linen padded gambeson, under a brown leather tunic, under a double layered grey suede toga dyed blue and heavily embroidered, under a padded leather spaulder, under a olive linen hooded cowl collar with red linen lining, under a doubled over brown wool shawl. (I read the graphic artists' notes on what each piece of clothing was when making the CosPlay) The many layers make him look quite a bit larger then he is, as can be seen when his clothes are removed, and you see how very skinny, underweight and almost anorexic he looks.

V2 of the Doppler retains Avallac'h original thin wireframe skeleton base, while Doppler V3 retaines Geralt's much larger, well muscled wireframe skeleton base. The end result is it changes what Avallac'h looks like, thus I rarely use V3.

  • ALL 3 VERSIONS suffer the serious glitch known as the "headless character" glitch. It happens during certain cutscenes and in specific quests. PayBack if you steal horses and put on a face mask, Dead Man's Party, when you shave your beard, for example. It is caused by the game swamping out your head texture file, for a masked, beard, or shaved texture file. The game literally removes your character's head, attempts to put on one of Geralt's heads, the mod over rides it, and the end result is your character has no head at all.

To fix the headless glitch, you must save the game, exit the game. Uninstall the Geralt Doppler. Wait about 30 seconds. Reinstall the Geralt Doppler. Open the game. Reload the last save file. It should be fixed, but not always. If not fixed, go to the Geralt Doppler's Rea Me file and detailed instructions for how to manually reattach the head file, via the debug consolue is there. After doing that, you have to save again, exit again, uninstall the Doppler again, wait again, reinstall again, load save file again, and this time it should be fixed.

NOTE: this mod is VERY BROKEN, seriously glitched out and full of bugs -

AND... WARNING!!!!!!!

The Geralt Doppler is a savefile changing leach mod that latches itself onto your save files like it was a virus with no tomorrow - it WILL corrupt your save files, so make backups of your savefiles BEFORE installing!

What the hell is with the rabbits? Why did you add all those rabbits to the game? Was there an actual reason why did you do that?

In the Witcher universe, you can tell how evil a character is, by the pets they keep. Sorcerers all have pets. Cats, dogs, owls, the usual stuff. Some keep monsters, one or two.

Avallac'h?

Avallac'h has cute, cuddly killer bunnies.

Avallac'h in the novels is a beast lord and monsters protect him.

While rumors exist of Avallac'h being an evil, brutal murderer ... the fact remains, that this can be proved a lie, by the fact that ALL animals and monsters trust him.

In de witcher lore, als een persoon nooit het bloed van een onschuldige heeft, zullen zij de mogelijkheid hebben om met dieren en monsters te praten, en alle dieren en monsters zullen hen beschermen en komen tot hun hulp.

Avallac'h is the ONLY character out of the 5,000+ characters that grace the Witcher novels, to possess this ability.

No animal fears him.

No monster fears him.

He can call any animal, any monster to protect him.

Unicorns alone, stand against him.

In the novels Avallac'h will not carry a sword, because animals and monsters fear swords.

Avallac'h walks the world unarmed, never touching a weapon, never allowing a weapon to enter his presence, and as a result of this, he can be seen with a menagerie of animals and monsters gathered around him, ready to die for him.

His pet Echinops and Archespores, giant 8 foot tall killer flowers, travel at his side. He rides, not a horse, but Knockers - huge troll like beasts. While thousands of Barbegizes - rabbit like, pumpkin sized orange furred tribble like balls of sharp fanged, man eating fur, rolling along the ground at his feet, ready to attack and devour any man who dares get near their dearly beloved Knowing One.

Avallac'h refers to his tens of thousands of Barbergizes as "my children" and treats them with more care and love then he does any of his other pets, save his favorite pet Human (Ciri).

To get close to Avallac'h one must first wade through his sea of Barbergizes first, and they are like furry rabbit shaped piranhas - one false move and they will reduce you to picked clean bones in seconds. While Avallac'h shrugs, laughs at your demise, and than rushes off to gleefully write poetry about the color of your blood and the sound of your dying screams.

"Stupid wtcher! Stupid witcher!"

He  (Geralt)  refrained from comment. He bit his lip and carefully moved past the echinops. The monster's spines swayed like sea anemone's tentacles.

Two immense barbergazis waddled across his path, jabbering and growling. From the ceiling came the flapping of webbed wings and a hissing cackle, unerringly signaling the presence of vampyrodes and vespertyles.

"He comes here, a murderer, a killer, a witcher! He comes down here, he dared!" But he has no sword, the killer.

"Or maybe we kill him?"

The barbergazis babbled in a noisy chorus. One of them, as big as a mature pumpkin, rolled closer and closer and snapped it's teeth at Geralt's heels.

"Wiitch-tcha! Ba-stard!"

En enorm cave painting was in the process of being created on the wall, which nature had seemingly prepared for that purpose. The painter a fair-haired elf dressed in a painted smudge mantle, ringed by a luminous halo.

"Sit down," said the elf without wresting his gaze away from the painting. He gestured to a boulder with a wave of his brush. "They did not hurt you, did they?"

"No, not really."

"You'll have to forgive them."

"Indeed I will."

"They're a bit like children. They were awfully happy you were coming."

Geralt watched in silence.

The elf dipped his brush in the paint. "The phallic cult was typical of primitive civilizations. The human race is yielding to physical degeneration. Its forebears had phalluses like clubs, but their descendants were left with ridiculous, vestigial little pricks."

~~

The introduction of Avallac'h and his hoard of monsters, pag

e 236 of Tower of Swallows, the first scene he appears in, while painting giant penises on cave paintings.

If you suddenly see hoards of rabbits on the horizon - run, just run. Run fast. For those are Avallac'h's Barbergizes and he's somewhere in the middle of their rolly-polly tumbling hoard.

Avallac'h comes off as a crazy cat woman, with thousands of killer rabbits instead of cats. THIS is how Avallac'h is described in the novels.

I wish they had made Avallac'h in the game, more like Avallac'h in the novels, as it takes something away from his character to see him without his ever loving hoard of flesh eating bunnies.

And ... I've corrected this oversight. If you ever wondered why I play Avallac'h, with a herd of rabbits bouncing along at his heels, well, you've never read the novels, and now you know why I gave him a bunch of bunnies to travel with.

Avallac'h loves his killer bunny rabbits, and they are a central part of his character in the novels, so to see Avallac'h in the game, without his pack of evil bunnies, leaves us without a lore friendly Avallac'h.

Lore-friendly Avallac'h just isn't lore-friendly without his killer bunnies bouncing around his feet. I'm glad I was able to find a way to fix this oversight and gve game Avallac'h his killer bunnies.

I'm not sure the logic of why Barbergizs are round rabbit like creatures in the Witcher. In folklore otherwise, they are similar to gnomes, halflings, or dwarves.

Playing a Lore-Friendly Avallac'h and what exactly that means:

... this is one of my fave pictures of Avallac'h (it comes from the quest Through Time and Space ... who'd a thunk?) ... a screenshot from before I started modding the game, so Avallac ' h as he should look.

  • Avallac'h was seen in the novels, lazily strolling around field picking flowers, making flower wreaths to wear, and overall acting like a hippie. Avallac'h frequently annoyed Ciri (unintentionally) by his refusal to ever be in a hurry, and by his endlessly interrupting important tasks by running off in fields to pick every flower he saw. Avallac'h is portrayed in the novels as having OCD and suffering from Punding, and once he sees a flower, he can not, walk by it, he must stop what he's doing to pick it. He will continually, obsessively, pound his way across a field picking every last flower if someone (Ciri or a herd of attacking Unicorns) does not step in the forcibly stop him. You see me playing Avallac'h Lore-Friendly to the novels and sidetracking quests to run off and pick flowers.
  • When playing as Avallac'h we never sell Verbera and Beggartick, and also never pass any Verbena or Beggartick without stopping what we are doing to pick them. Avallac'h's favorite flower is verbena, which he uses to make perfume out of (which he wears). Fisstech is made of Beggertick flowers and Avallac'h makes fisstech.
  • Avalac'h collects human skulls. He owns thousands of them. Formentlig er de trophies han holdt af de mennesker han er drept. So in game whenever we collect a skull while looting, we store them all in our stash.
  • Avallac'h is a vegetarian and animal rights activist. He has full on meltdowns in the novels, if someone eats meat or harms an animal. When playing as Avallac'h you see me selling off all the meat we loot, and avoiding fighting / killing wolves, dogs, and bear.
  • In the novels, Avallac'h openly admitted his raging sexual lusts for Ciri, and made her wear skimpy silk skirts slit up to her thigh, black lace, and long silk scarf tied round her neck. He also made he keep her hair long and loose. By far the single most perverted character of the whole franchise, Avallac'h went out of his way to keep Ciri always close to him, was constantly described as touching, stroking, caressing, hugging, cuddling, kissing, and embracing her. Here took great pleasure in gently pulling Cri close, embracing her, while nuzzling her neck, this being something he does to her often in the novels. Avallac'h is also the only character Ciri has sexual intercourse with, in spite of getting tossed in bed with several other characters throughout the novels. While Ciri tramps here prostituting, Slutty whore ass in front of some 5 boxes but throughout the novels, Avallac'h remains the only character in the entire franchise she has ever sex with, and that through her beating the hell out of him, then raping him. We changed Ciri in the game to match the way Avallac'h made her dress for him in the novels. We've also added the ability for Avallac'h to hug Ciri in the game.
  • Avallac'h communicates with tree spirits, rock spirits, and flat spirits, and as such will not harm Leshens, Knockers, Archespores, Echinops, and Trolls. So, we try in game, to avoid fighting any of these creatures (not all appear in game).
  • Avallac'h's very devoutly religious character. His fictional religion is heavily influenced by real-world Muslim and Jewish cultures, and heavily influenced by Kabbalism. As such he prays often throughout the day, refuses to eat meat, will not touch pork at all, does not drink alcohol, and goes weeks on and without drinking and drinking (a form of Ramanadah). Fordi dette er en pivotal del af hans karakter, prøver vi at huske at gøre disse ting i spillet.
  • Avallac'h jumps on beds. We do not know why. Men når looting houses vi laver et punkt på jumping på alles seng, Elf glad.
  • After being brutally raped by Ciri, Avallac'h suffers from some serious PTSD and Stockholm Syndrome. He lives in absolute mortal, traumatized fear of Ciri, and is terrified to disobey anything she says. Though we hate Ciri's slutty, rapist bitch whore ass, we spawn her as Avallac'h's travel companion because, ever since she raped him, he's terrified to be out of her shadow.
  • Avallac'h's favorite color is purple, so why we gave him a purple unicorn.
  • Avallac'h's clothes should be red and purple, not blue and brown, and his hair platinum ash blonde not black gone gray. Sooner or later will you see me get around to make a mod to make his clothes and hair lore-friendly.
  • Avallac'h is infertile, a side effect of the radioactive magic he uses. he is obsessed with finding a cure for the infertility that most mages suffer from. The novels are not fully clear on the hows and whys, but curing infertility somehow involved gold dragon scales and green olives, both of which you can loot in the game, from Avallac'h's boat, Many hideout, his brothel apartment, and his laboratory . Due to his canon obsession with these items, we never sell them and our stash has become quite full of them.
  • Avallac'h in the novels collects shiny reflective things. Has a massive mirror collections. Collects antiques, especially silverware. And spoons. Thus, when we find such items in bulk, they all go straight to the stash and are not sold.
  • Avallac'h in the novels has hoarding issues. So we gave him hoarding issues in the game. Derfor hvorfor vores stash nu lider nogle alvorlige lag problemer når du laster. : P
  • Avallac'h in the novels is constantly surrounded by a variety of monsters, including a large herd of Barberzis, so we gave him a motley crew or monsters and animals to travel with him, including a herd of bunny rabbits. Hvilken type af kreaturer rejser med ham i spillet afhænger af mit humør og ændringer fra en dag til den næste.
  • Avallac'h likes racing his horses around lakes, something Ciri chided him for as he forgets to let his horses rest. In the novels Ciri and Avallac'h had a daily time of racing their horses around the lake. Ciri considered Avallac'h her best friend, and racing horses with him was her favorite thing to do with him. Det var en ting som de likte at lave sammen hver dag, og derfor gør vi det ofte og at tilfældigt i spillet.
  • Though quick to become proper, silent, shy, and sullen in the presence of other Elves while trying to hide his infatuation for Ciri, when alone with Ciri, Avallac'h's personality changed dramatically with him acting like a wild giddy toddler. De to av dem løper ofte sammen og handler som barn, og jager hverandre gennem felt. We can and often do, do this in game.
  • Though everyone fears him and trembles in terror at his presence, Avallac'h himself is a very fear-filled, phobia-prone person. He '' attack viciously and violently when he is cornered and threatened, become more violent than normal if Ciri is with him, fiercely protecting her. Hans spell casting angreps er dødelig med han kan vaporise folk ved blot at pege på dem. Men, han rarely resorts to violence, and if has the option to do so, will flee, while dragging Ciri with him and abandoning everyone else. He prefers to turn and run, rather then stand and fight. Han er rask til at skjule mens noen andre fights the danger for him. As such we play him in game this way and do more running from enemies then actually fight them.
  • I hate rapists with a vengeance. I was raped when I was 12 years old and again when I was 14. There is nothing on this planet I find mod vile and disgusting then a rapist. That said, be prepared to hear me to A LOT of raving and ranting on how much I HATE Ciri and her vile rapist bitch self, every time I see her trashy, rapist ass show up on screen. Gutter trash like Ciri doesn't deserve to live. If you start fangirling over that evil, vile rapist you'll get an earful from me up one side and down the other. Rapist trash, pieces of shit like Ciri are worse than murderers and should be given the death sentence.

But Witcher 3 has a 10 mod limit! How do you play with 100+ mods? What is this stacking mods method you are talking about? How do I do that on my game?

Mod stacking is an advanced technique and assumes you already know how to build mods on a basic level, and have the software needed to uncook and recook modes.

If you do not know how to uncook a mod, create a new metastore data file for it, then recook it, you will not be able to stack mods. You will want to learn against cooking first.

Ef þú hefur nú þegar vitað hvernig á að hreppa upp móts, búa til nýtt metastore gagnaskrár, þá endurskoða módelið, þá er stacking mods mjög auðvelt og auðvelt að gera.

Witcher 3 has what is known as a "10 to limit". Det er ikke en faktisk mod grænse, men et problem forårsaget af Witcher som er gjort for Windows 7, og Windows 10 messing up, hvordan det laster koden. In other words, if you play on Windows 7, you should not run into a mod limit, but if you play on Windows 10, you'll max out after 10 mods. It's a problem of how Win10 loads scripts vs how Win7 loads scripts and is NOT a mod limit that CDProjectRed put in the game.

In order to by pass the 10 mod limit, you have to know how to stack mods inside of other mods, inside of other mods. You can stack 12 mods inside of each other against, and load 12 mods in the game. Du kan nå Witcher 3 med en total total av 144 mods, hvis du stakkar korrekt.

Script mods you can load without limit page by page normally, as long as it does not contain a metastore data file for blob.bundles. Windows 10 can not properly load more than 12 metastore data files.

Du har til å skapa en mappe som heter ModMerged1 og derefter åbne hver mod, slette det med metrore datafil, rename det blob0.bundle filen til madNAME.blob0.bundle, og flytte det til modMerged1.

Once you've put 10 mods inside of the merged file, you need to use RedEdit's lite.ws against cooker to create a new metastore data file.

If you want to add an addition 10 mods, create a new folder forMerged2, modMerged3, modMerged4, etc, up to modMerged12 (12 is the max Windows 10 will load) and place up to 12 blob files inside of each, for a total of 144 mods, merged into 12 mods.

Mens du kan gå 12 deep inside of 12 files (144 mods total), I recommend doing 10 deep inside of 10 files instead (100 mods total), to avoid GPU issues with your computer.

Også i order to do this you want to have an i7 processor, anything under i7 will not load this many mods on Witcher 3 without crashing the computer. No, you can not run Witcher 3 with this many mods if you have an i3 or i5.

I'm running 78 mods on Witcher 3. Several are not compatible with each other normally, and I had to re-write script to make them work.

The reason I stop being 78 mods is because I run into RAM issues with my computer. If I added another stick or two of RAM, I could easily load 144 mods. I just have not gotten to add more memory to my computer yet. With another 16 RAM I should remove the layer issues I run into with loading mods.

So, consider how much memory is on your PC when modding Witcher 3. 16RAM minimum recommended for modding Witcher 3, but 32RAM is a better way to go and if you can get it, 64RAM is going to be best for playing Witcher 3 with heavy duty mods and no layers.

Mens det virker som om jeg er meget mods, er der faktisk kun nogle få mods som påvirker den generelle spillet selv.
