FAQ: What are the most visited pages on this website and how many visits do they get?

Several years ago, I wrote an article on how to write different types of magic uses, or rather how I personally write various types of magic users within the context of my Quaraun books. Today that page is one of my top ten most visited articles. It gets 50 to 500 views/reads/hits/visits per day depending on the time of the years and has had over 200k visits total since it was published.

Amphibious Aliens: Debunking The Atwater Family's Alien Abduction Hoax with more then 30MILLION reads since 2007 and The GoldenEagle: Debunking Stephen King's World's Most Haunted Car Hoax with over tenMILLION reads since 2007 still rank as the two most visited articles on my website, but, neither of those are writing related.

Writing Medieval Servants is my most visited writing related article with over 7MILLION reads.

This website was started in 1996 and has 1 to 3 new articles (all written by me, I am the only writer on this site) published almost daily. In 2017 we crossed ten thousand articles published. As of 2023, EACH article gets MINIMUM 10 to 70 reads PER DAY, with the high traffic articles getting 500+ reads per day.

And since December 2019, my website now gets three hundred thousand to 7 million reads per month - well over ONE HUNDRED MILLION PAGE READS PER YEAR, making it not only the single most trafficked site in the State of Maine, but also one of the most visited websites in ALL OF NEW ENGLAND!

I've gotten lots of questions about can you find me in the CosPlay skits, dances, masquerades, or contests?

I am what is known as a "hallway cosplayer" (meaning you'll see me mingling in the hall of the convention with other cosplayers)
and am OtherKin (meaning I do not simply dress as my character at events, but become the character every day of my life 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year) and thus you can encounter me in full cosplay ANY PLACE not just at cons.

No, I'm not an actor, I do not do the dating games, dances, or masquerades. No interest in such things.
No, I will not join your group in a skit. I don't do skits. Sorry, it's not my thing, I Just don't do them.

No, I do not enter the workmanship contests.
I am driven by my love for the characters, not winning prizes
and have no incentive to enter such things.

While I'm not doing an official book signing at PortCon, you are more then welcome to bring books for signing,
and if you catch me in the hall, I'll be more than happy to sign them for you.

PortCon takes place in 4 separate buildings: the 2 DoubleTree towers, at the Maine Mall across the street, and starting in 2018, now also in the new Hilton building next door to the two towers. Almost ALL the events I attend are in the second tower, the shorter one at the back of the gardens, seen here --->>> In between events, you can usually find me in the main hall of the second tower hanging out with other CosPlayers. We are the annual HallWay CosPlayers of PortCon and we'd love to have you join us!

I will be there at all days of the event.

I live around the corner from the DoubleTree Hilton where the convention is held, so you can usually expect to see me arrive between 7AM to 8AM. (Yes... 2 HOURS before the doors open, the lines to get in ARE that long! If you arrive at opening time, you won''t get in the building before noon time at BEST.)

I typically leave around 3PM to go eat, and return around 4PM (this time fluctuates depending on the daily event schedule. We, my boyfriend will be there, usually go to SubWay at the BullMoose mini-mall) Other then leaving this one hour for lunch, I stay at PortCon all day till midnight/1AM

IMPORTANT NOTE: 
PortCon is the ONLY convention I will be at in 2018!

I have been CosPlaying since 1987, 2018 is my 31st year as a CosPlayer.  In that time I've done 200+ costumes and usually am seen at as many as 12 events each summer. I know, you usually expect to see me at lots of events throughout the year, however, I've been doing this for 31 years now, and both my age and my health are preventing me from being very active of late. 

I have arthritis, hip dysplasia, Parkinson's Disease, Autism (Kanner's Syndrome), PTSD, have 3 ruptured discs in my spine, am blind in one eye and fast going blind in my other eye, am deaf in one ear and can not hear well in the other, and since being attacked by a stalker who left me paralyzed for 5 months and 18 months relearning to walk, I'm now on a cane. My health is not good of late and I am no longer able to make full season of event runs. While I have no plans to retire from CosPlaying, I will be doing far fewer events than you saw me doing in the past.

Since 2013, I've only CosPlayed disabled/crippled characters who use a cane or staff to walk, thus allowing me to incorporate my cane into the CosPlay. That is the case this year. The character Avallac'h is both elderly and crippled and that is why I picked him to CosPlay. The Avallac'h CosPlay includes a staff, which will be replacing my cane.

This is an ACTUAL MEDICAL GRADE staff 
that I have had custom made for this costume.

I know people like to touch my extremely elaborate, over the top CosPlays, but please be aware, 
I am EXTREMELY CRIPPLED and RELY HEAVILY on the cane to be able to walk.  
The staff you will see with this costume is real, and I CAN NOT walk without it.

(If you didn't know I am a senior citizen, I'm not sure why, but most people tend to think I'm some 20 to 30 years younger then I actually am, but, yes, I'm old enough to be your grandmother, in fact, you're grandmother is probably younger than me. I seem to be older then most of my fans' grans these days. I does get tiring, young kids in their 30s walking up to me and saying "Gee I wish I was young like you, I'd date you." You're in your 30s, that's means you're a child to me. I was YOUR age back in the 1970s - 40 years ago.)

Do know that the first day of the event, the ticket line goes out the building around the lot, past Cracker Barrel, and last year, went all the frigging damned way to ToysRUs, nearly 1/4 of a mile long, with 5,000+ people standing in line 4 hours before the tickets started to even be sold! 
This is an event people people set up tents and sleep on the sidewalk to be the first ones in line for.

If you have not pre-registered, you may NOT get in! 

PortCon has a cap limit and when they reach it, they stop selling tickets. 
South Portland Police Officers ARE there doing head counts and they WILL shut the line down if too many people arrive. That line cuts off at 3,500 people and if you are 3,501 you are NOT getting in.

South Portland Police Department is also there at the event doing rigous weapons checks. 
If you are carrying anything that looks even remotely like a weapon, you WILL be pulled out of line and searched.

You have to be "peace bound" before the police will let you into this event.

This is a CosPlay Convention, a lot of people are carrying swords, guns, and who knows what else.

While swords and guns ARE street legal in Maine, they are NOT legal in PortCon. 
Many people try to take live/real weapons into this event.
If you take them out of your car, they WILL be confiscated, and turned over to the South Portland police. 

PortCon enforces a strict no live weapons policy. Know that before you arrive.

Yes, my Avallac'h CosPlay this year includes a real sword. 

No, I will not be bringing it with me to the convention.

While I am a sword collector and you see me in photo shoots with live steal/real swords, I do not bring my swords with me to the event, so don't expect me to have them in any photos at the event.

Do know The DoubleTree Hilton is right next door to the Portland JetPort, the airport that the 9-11 planes were hijacked out of. The Portland and South Portland Police are on HIGH ALERT looking for terrorists during PortCon.

There was a run on the event last year with people getting trampled and 400+ people crowding into a room that had a 68 person capacity, due to a famous YouTuber being at the event. 
The police were not ready for that last year, they are planning to be ready for it this year, 
after Ethan of CrankGamePlays caused a run on the Mall last year.

Remember - this is a LIMITED CAPACITY EVENT!
If you are not-pre regged for PortCon there is no guarantee you are getting in. 
This is the largest convention in Maine and people come from all over the world to it.
There is no guarantee you can buy tickets at the door.
