What Is This Site?

I'm an author. This is an author home page. It's about me, my life, my books, and my home town.

Since starting my writing career in 1978, I have written 130+ novels, 200+ short stories, 6,000+ non-fiction articles, 30+ non-fiction books, a few dozen stage plays, 9,700+ blog posts, and a few comic book scripts for Disney's Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck.

In fiction works, I specialize in Weird/Bizzaro Tales set in Medieval Dark Fantasy and Science Fiction worlds featuring Elf and Faerie main character.

My non-fiction topics include local history (particularly paranormal events), gardening, sewing, doll making, painting, SEO, and of course the bulk of my work has been devoted to teaching young writers how to get started on the path of becoming a career author.

This site started out on August 17, 1997, under the name "Space Dock 13", as the "Ask EelKat" advice column for writers. It's original purpose was simply for an author (me) to answer questions anyone had about writing short stories and novels. Today 20 years later, I still answer questions sent to me, though, I now receive an average of 2,000 questions a day, meaning it's no longer possible for me to answer every question I receive.

This site's one goal, is still today, as it was when it started: to help young writers get started on the road to becoming published authors.

In 2003, one reader suggested that the best way they could think of, for an author to show people looking to get started in a writing career, what an author's daily life was like, would be to start a blog daily chonalizing every daily activity that effected my writing career.

With that suggestion in mind EK's Star Log was born, and is still active today, 9,772 blog posts later.

On September 23, 2013, we changed urls to EelKat.com, and began the long process of moving all the articles off the old url to this new one. As of June 19, 2017, a little over 2,000 pages have now been transferred here to the new url.

Large portions of my site covers one topic and one topic only:

The Town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine...

...where all my books, novels, short stories, plays, and articles are set; it's history, it's people, and how to use YOUR local town as a setting for your novels; that's what this place started out as in 1997.

Did you know that in 2004, Old Orchard Beach was featured on a United States Postage Stamp, and it was this photo, taken by me, that was choose to represent our town?

In 2006, after a bomb blew up my house and a series of nearly daily drive by shootings, vandalism of my cars, and murders of my pets, this site began to document the daily hate crimes taking place in Old Orchard Beach.

From 2006 to 2017, this site became the home of the daily posts chronicling every terrorist act done by this mysterious stalker, who's identity still remains a mystery, but is now known to be 3 people: a man and two women

Today this site houses the archive of more then 6,000 daily blog posts, chronicling the daily terrorist acts committed in Old Orchard Beach (link to those can be found in the 9,772 post archive list in the side bar --->).

As a result of these terrorist attacks on now more then 140 families of Old Orchard beach, this site has evolved, from being just the author home page it started out as in 1997 and is now the largest (10,000+ pages) and most visited (now averaging 5,000 visitors a day [as of June 2017]) website devoted to the Town of Old Orchard Beach.

The goal of this site, was simply to answer questions young writers had about getting into the writing career and becoming published authors. It has grown to become the largest website in the world, devoted to teaching writers how to protect your family from a deranged fan turned murderous psycho stalker. Had this deranged 4-door white truck driving psychopath not entered our lives, this site would still today, do nothing but answer questions on how to crate characters and edit novels.

While still an author's home page, and still with the primary goal of being here to help young authors get started in their careers, the daily attacks on residents of our town, has interrupted that goal every step of the way, continuing to force the town of Old Orchard Beach and it's invasion by this mysterious trio of white-power, gay-hating terrorists, front and center, as these terrorists continue to disrupt our daily lives and terrorize me, my family, my friends, and my neighbors.

And so this author home page has evolved in it's 20 years of existence, to include, every aspect of how life effects my career as an author: from writing my novels to dealing with a terrorist murdering my cats and nailing their heads to my door, if it has happened to this author, it is on this site...

You are about to enter a site that chronalizes, day by day, every event of one author's life, from August 17, 1997, to 2017 and beyond.

The site being about Old Orchard Beach is because this site is an author's home page about the author (me), her books, her life, her hobbies, her home (Old Orchard Beach), and because I'm an author with agoraphobia who hasn't set foot outside of her farm in 37 years, until a bomb blew up her house, and then never went more then 14 miles from her driveway in any direction, that and the fact that my family settled this town in 1530, founded it as "The Garden By The Sea" in 1648, and for 500 years my family has never left this spot. We are the oldest family in New England to still be the original settlement family on the original settlement land... and all of that means, I've no other topic to talk about. It's not like I've ever had contact with Humans or went any place. The locals call me a hermit, a feral child, and "The Sea Witch of Old Orchard Beach" for a reason you know. They also called my "Maine's Crazy Cat woman", but then they killed my cats, cut off their heads and nailed them to my door.

And while it covers just one, single, solitary topic, it also covers every, single, tiniest, minutest, possible aspect of that one topic.

On first appearances, it may seem that I have "hundreds" of "completely random" topics all over the place, however, when you start to ACTUALLY READ the articles, you realize fast that in reality my site as only one topic: The Town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

This site was founded in 1997 and has been for 20 years responsible for most of the online tourist promotion of our town... this one site has brought more tourists to our town then any other website on the planet. Mostly because of these two pages: Page #1 (1997) and Page #2 (2007) and more recently also This Page (2013).

With over 10 million lifetime views, Amphibious Aliens is my most popular and most trafficked article ever. Published April 17, 2007, it's now celebrating it's 10th anniversary.

This one page alone brings in 3,000 views a day, and has resulted in the annual arrival of 30,000 ufo hunter and MUFON member tourists arriving in Old Orchard Beach every summer since 2007.

This single page brings more tourists to Old Orchard Beach, then anything else found on or off the internet!

{{{Hugs}}} to all you wonderful people. I always look forward to meeting and talking with you each summer!

The site focuses a lot of writing fantasy and self-publishing, because that's my job, a job I do here in The Town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

Because I write Yaoi about Elves, Phookas, and Wizards and set those books in a Medieval version of The Town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, you also find my question & answer sessions with readers, writers, and authors posted here as well, along with my rants at writers who refuse to do their own work and the lazy wanna-bes who think they have to other authors to do everything for them (they used to be on A Writer's Desk - a different website, that I also own - EelKat.com being only one of my more then 200 websites.)

Because I've done NaNoWriMo every year since 2004, winning all but 2 years, and writing 50,000 words in 3 days instead of 30 days, you see all my old Squidoo articles on how I did it here as well. (I do my NaNoWriMo Writing at The Old Orchard Beach Library.)

Because I'm a code writer, creating Random Generators for writers, and the creator of the infamous Dare Generator, that Kendra Silvermander tries to take credit for, you see those posted here as well, seeing how they are things that were created in The Town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

Because I help local businesses in the Town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, with their SEO and offline promotions and internet marketingmaking money online, you see that stuff here too.

I'm a vlogger and a gamer, both of which are done in the Town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine and thus you see me talking about how I do my YouTube career as well.

The Town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine has a lot of history to it, a lot of things to do and see while you are here, a lot of cultures and traditions found no where else, including not found elsewhere in the State of Maine.

Because a lot goes on in our town, I am able to cover a lot of topics which on first appearances don't seem to go together, until you realize, they are all things you can find, see, and visit here in The Town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

In other words, if you can find it in The Town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, then you can find it on my site, no matter what it is: from amphibious aliens to zoos that shut down in the 1970s... if it ever existed in The Town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, it is on my website.

This website is the largest and most visited site on the internet that is devoted to The Town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

Did you know Old Orchard Beach was the first town in America to have a black town councilman?

Or that NONE of the town's first town councilmen were white?

The rest were either Jewish or Gypsy.

Old Orchard Beach's first town council meeting seen above.

The guy in the 2nd row, beside the guy with the yellow suit, is my great-grandfather George Ricker.

The black man is Emerson Cummings, whom Emerson Cummings Boulevard was named after.

In 1997 this site started out as a "How To Write" site, known as SpaceDock13, aimed at authors seeking to write novels set in real locales, and focused on teaching how I used the history, geography, and culture of Old Orchard Beach as the basis for all of my writing.

Over time this site evolved, when the "Ask EelKat" section started in 2003 and readers began asking more and more questions about the town and fewer questions about writing.

Now instead of being a site about writing, with sections about the town, it has become a site about the town, with sections on writing.  pages off all of my 200+ websites and 32 blogs are slowly being moved to this site. As I move the pages off the old sites to here, the

All of my old sites are being shut down. Eventually everything will be on just this one site, and all the other sites will cease to exist.

Each of the smaller sites had their own topic. This site originally acted as my "author home page" and just featured my Twighlight Manor and Quaraun series books. However, as I live in Old Orchard Beach and all of my books are set in Old Orchard Beach, the topic of Old Orchard Beach took front and center place over time, thus the evolution of the site topic. Twenty years ago, back when I was a young kid in my 30's managing 200+ sites and 32 blogs was easy. Now in my senior years it grows more difficult to keep track of so many websites, so consolidating everything all into one is just plain easier for me to manage.

The Old Orchard Beach Fanlisting and Old Orchard Beach Fan Club and The Old Orchard Beach Review Comity, The Seawitch of Old Orchard Beach, as well as all of the other websites that were specifically titled "Old Orchard Beach ___" have now all been shut down. Their pages are showing up here as I have time to do so.

My Monster Porn websites, my Yaoi websites, my fanfiction websites, and most of my author interview and how-to write/publish sites, have also all been shut down already. Likewise their pages are currently being reuploaded here to this site. As these are the pages my fans have been requesting back online, it is the Monster Porn, Yaoi, writing, and publishing pages that are being given top priority during this move.

Most of my Voodoo, Hoodoo, Psychic, Card Reading, Spell Casting, Rootwork, Gypsy History, Magic Arts, and similar sites are now shut down. (This includes the original Amphibious Aliens article series - some 700,000 words worth; and the World's Most Haunted Car series) As these were the highest traffic pages of all of my sites, getting these pages back online is also in the top priority of the move.

My Keen and Etsy accounts, as well as my 900# are still online and probably will not be shut down, however, the listings are now turned off and I will no longer be doing card readings via these venues. Future card readings are now being done as a free service, and will be uploaded to my YouTube account. There will at some point be a section feature those videos here on this site, but it has not yet been made (as of May 2017). Spell casting services continue to be on a case by case basis, but will be more limited now then before. Candle lighting services are on temporary hiatus, as The Church of the Holy Rhinestone was torn down by vandals March 31, 2015 and we do not at this moment have a permanent candle alter set up.

Most of my Disney Fanlistings, Uncle Scrooge fan sites, Darkwing Duck fan sites, InuYasha fan sites, Sesshomaru fan sites, and comic book collecting sites have already been shut down. Those pages will eventually be moved here, but doing so is not a high priority, so those will likely be the last ones to go up.

There is a wait period between shutting down the old sites and reuploading pages here, as we have to wait for Google to unindex all the old pages of the old sites, a process that takes Google about 6 months to do. Once each old page is unindexed, they will be republished here. The entire process of moving all the pages off of all 200+ sites over to here, will take in total, about 5 years to complete.

The reason for choosing to keep this url, while shutting down the rest and moving them here, was because the url here is my name, and as I am the author of all the articles, it was simply logical to keep this url and house all my articles in one archive system, sorted by categories.

And there you have it.

The site topic.

And for those who ask "Why EelKat.com?" Because that's my name, and in testing out various search result on the old url, it was determined most people looking for articles written by me, typed the search term "eelkat of squidoo" and were NOT seeking out my articles by searching "old orchard beach". My name outranks the town's name in search engine optimization tests we did in 2013, before changing the url.

This site was founded in August 17, 1997 with new pages added almost daily since then, there are now 6,000+ pages on SpaceDock13, but not all of them are public access. If you reach a page that asks you to log in with a password, that page is members access only, reserved for members of our writing group. You have to be a local author and attend the meetings to gain password access to the private pages of this site. At the moment only 1,030 pages are public access. However 700+ of those are set to "no follow" so you CAN NOT go to Google/Bing/Yahoo/DogPile/Jeeves and search for them as I have search engine bots blocked from indexing them. There are only about 300 pages that have search engine bot access, all other pages can only be accessed by clicking links to them, found on other pages of this site. It has changed urls multiple times as best fit the times. As of September 23, 2013, this site is now on EelKat.com url.

Wasn't This Page Different Yesterday?

Answering another question: "Wasn't this page different yesterday?"

Yep. Probably. I update pages daily. Move pages constantly. Re-write codes every few weeks. Publish 1 to 10 new pages every day. And post daily updates on various pages. The front landing page (this one you are reading now) changes daily. It'll feature different articles every day.

The first draft of an article shows up here the day it's written, then 2 or 3 days later gets moved to it's own page with it's own url.

This site is VERY active. If you don't come back daily, you'll defiantly miss out on something.

We Are Now The Largest &
Most Visited Website
of Old Orchard Beach, Maine!

{{{{Hugs}}} and a great big thank you to all my wonderful fans!

As of March 2017 EelKat.com is now getting 44,000 views per month!

We've come a long way from the 300 views a month I was getting 10 years ago when the Amphibious Aliens article was first published.

We are also now the #1 web site on Google for almost every search term containing the words "Old Orchard Beach", receiving more then 7,000 hits per month just on that one search term!

With 6,000+ pages and 44,000 views per month, we are now both the largest and most trafficked website headquartered out of Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Yay!

These amazing results are all thanks to two articles: Amphibious Aliens, which now ranks as my most read article ever, and Meet The GoldenEagle: The World's Most Haunted Car, which is the most visited page on my website. Thank you to all my wonderful readers for making this possible. Without all you wonderful people this website wouldn't even be possible.

{{{Hugs}}} for you all, and thank you once again for taking the time to stop by!

I'm Scottish. We swear. We flip birdies. We flash moons. And in 2015 when crazy locals were accusing me of being a transvestite, I did a Lady Godiva doned a purple cape and walked from from my driveway way at 146 Portland Ave to the town hall at 1 Portland Ave. I had to pay a $1,500 fine for wearing nothing but a cape, but I guarantee there is no one in Old Orchard Beach who saw my 38DD boobs and unshaved vagina who questions if I'm female any more.

I'm Scottish and I have Autism and Schizo Effective Personality Disorder. Look it up. It means nothing embarrasses me, I'm bold as brass, and walk into battle bull headed, fearless... and naked, because nothing stops a non-Scottish war lord in his tracks like a naked Scottish woman walking down main street.

Ever wonder why our men wear kilts? The better to moon you with.

Our culture doesn't sexualize nudity the way you Americans do. It's why Gypsy women can run around half naked or completely naked and still be virgins when they get married, while men can can flip up their skirts and scratch their balls and no one bats an eye.

Americans call us crude, but what we are is we are not perverted sexual deviants like you.

If you don't like the way we talk, you won't like the way we dress or the way we act.

Here have some Scottish Moonbeams... help you get your head in the right place.

This is Old Orchard Beach, the town that invented the nudy-shirt... home of honky tonks, topless bars, lobstermen who shoot other lobster men with machine guns, heroine capital of New England, grower of more opium then any other town in the country, and a tavern next door to the grade school. We're a family friendly town, remember?

This town was founded by and predominately inhabited by Scottish Gypsies. You don't like our version of family friendly, you can suck balls, you fucking jackass prick of a dick. No one's forcing you to be here.

We Gypsies of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, are Scottish & this site therefore uses our Native Scottish English.

Spellings like "traveller" or "neighbour" or "colour", pronoun differences "me" for "my" or "you" for "your" might look unfamiliar to you, but they are in fact correct in our language. Please refrain from letting your cultural ignorance show in my inbox.

UPDATE: April 7, 2016
Looking For Something?

We have a brand new Site Map being built to index all of the 6,000+ pages on this site. This is the current and up to date version of the site index, which is updated with new pages daily. If you are looking for something, that is the back place to find it.

Additionally, there is a new Sub-Index System going up, in the footer (appearing on every page of this site - scroll to the bottom to see it) to make it easier for you to find pages by topic. It is currently being built and should be finished by the end of the month. It'll start showing up at the bottom of every page. It will allow you to gain quicker access to articles by topic.

Sadly I've not played in a D&D game group since I was beaten up at Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) November 14, 2013 and left paralyzed for 5 months, relearned to walk for 18 months, and am still now in 207 crippled and with very limited mobility. A 4 door white truck left the scene.

The FBI believes this attacker to be the same person who blew up my house with a bomb on October 18, 2006.

The 4-door white truck has Maine plate #: 1459 US.

More information can be found HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE.

If you know the driver of this truck, they are wanted for 2 counts of attempted murder, the bombing of my house, the kidnapping of my cats, the murder/beheading of my cousin, and more than 200 terrorist attacks on LGBTQ residents of Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Please give any information you have to the identity of this very dangerous criminal to:

The Quaraun Series On Amazon:

I am wondering why has Amazon moved the Quaraun books to the category "Transgender Romance" and also "Gay Erotica"? The base story is a deeply depressed, suicidal, drug addict Elf who's lover commit suicide and he's trying not to do the same. It's an old Elf in a tavern, monologuing a lot of flashbacks and back story scenes of his youth. These stories are dark, bloody, angsty, full of drug use, murder, rape, Medieval torture, mental/physical/emotional abuse, and references to depression and suicide - no romance in it, unless you count the occasional (and usually brutally violent) rape scenes that show up in nearly every volume - sorry - no clue what Amazon is thinking or why they moved these to Romance and Erotica, but these books are NOT even close to being Romance or Erotica on any level at all. When I published these books I put them in "Dark Fantasy" and "Yaoi". If they show up in any category other then "Dark Fantasy" and "Yaoi", it's because Amazon put them there without my authorization or approval.
